"Fed Chair Jerome Powell says he and his colleagues are trying to stabilize a job market that is "unsustainably hot." Wages have been rising at a fast clip in an economy where the unemployment rate is at 3.6%, which is very close to its pre-pandemic low."You have two job vacancies essentially for every person actively seeking a job, and that has led to a real imbalance in wage negotiating," Powell said when answering questions at a press conference two weeks ago.
The Fed chair is aware of the pain that will be inflicted on more people as he wrestles with inflation and tries to tame it.
"We don't seek to put people out of work," he said. "But we also think that you really cannot have the kind of labor market we want without price stability.""
For those of you who are unable to decipher Federal Reserve double speak, the section in bold is the real message Jerome "I hate poor people" Powell is conveying here.
Since we're off topic anyway, I have to chuckle when people bitch and moan about "the Fed" raising rates to control inflation which was SQUARELY the result of overspending by Congress through stimulus payments and PPP "loans" during a COVID hysteria. It's time to pay the piper and everyone acts shocked when the Fed does their job. There are only so many levers to pull to rein in inflation and, unfortunately, all of those levers likely result in job losses. Here again, blame the idiots we elected to Congress who think that spending money solves everything....

Interesting how hard base allocations have become. Every dealer had several to sell me back in late 2020 for a base Cab allocation but it took me 8 dealers to find a S cab allocation.
After reading the posts in this thread, I'm feeling very fortunate. I decided I wanted to buy a 911 back in March, after a 20 year hiatus from the beloved 911's that I previously owned. As a point of reference I bought my first 911 back in 1989, which was a 1987 911 Cabriolet. When I went to visit my local Porsche dealer, he happened to have a T allocation available. Which I would of taken, but had my heart set on specing out base Carrera. To make a long story short the GM was able to do a allocation trade giving up his T for a base Carrera. My order locked in at the end of March with a estimated delivery in June. After 20 joyful years of raising my kids, it's going to feel really nice to once again get behind the wheel of a 911. I went with the gentleman's color combination, Aventurine Green over Truffle Brown interior.
Sorry for a new to the process question - again. I put down a $2500 deposit about 1 month ago for a base cabriolet. SA put into system and e-mailed me a screenshot of entry and indicated that the Order Demand was submitted to Porsche for a model year 2024. He indicated I was number 1 on the allocation list and estimated a 6-12 month wait. He also indicated that I would receive an email from Porsche confirming the above - but as of today - nothing. I am awaiting a response from the SA after sending him a note last week.
My question is: when does the first notification come from Porsche - after the initial submission request - as described above - or when I get an allocation? Appreciate the insights from others.

Thanks.
Order demand does not equal a guaranteed allocation with a commission number. You could hypothetically wait far longer depending on how many allocations your dealer gets per year. That would depend on your dealer’s previous sales numbers.
Anybody hear of any Allocations this month on base models becoming available/distributed again?
Unfortunately I have not. Very few 911 allocations of any variant were handed out this month. I imagine a lot of this is that PAG is gearing up for 992.2, coupled with the persistence of manufacturing/production shortages.
In those sad days, you can pay easily S money for the base if you build one
an S for 160k is the new norm now with some good options. So I can see people wanting the Base because the rest are getting too expensive
I was looking for a used 992 C2s and dealer asked if I was interested in ordering a Base. I feel like the $ gap is big enough where the people are doing exactly like you said, ordering a base.
If I settle for a new base, I will always want the S.
Came down to audio system availability for us. Wife liked red brakes and Bose wasn’t available on the C2…and although I preferred the C2’s more linear power band to the bigger torque hit of the C2S, more power in a heavier Cab is welcome. But for whatever reason, selecting Bose on their changeable C2S allocation kicked the build date out 6-8 weeks, with no guarantees switching to Burmester would bring it back. The dealer had a changeable C2 allocation with Bose…which supposedly isn’t an available combo…and a smaller ADM…so we took it. Hope to see it this week…
