You have a Manual Transmission. It works with the PDK Transmissions.

Really? Why would that be dependent on the transmission? The hold feature is there on manual cars, it comes on automatically sometimes. Confused!

With PDK, if your cruising in 8th gear and you let off accelerator and upshift, the car will disengage the transmission and coast. As soon as you give any throttle, the PDK does its thing and selects the right gear. This is NOT the same as pulling both paddles. When you pull both, and you want to go back in gear, simply giving it throttle wont re-engage. You have to pull one of the paddles first.

Assuming PDK, when you come to a stop, just put a bit harder down on the brake pedal. The green "HOLD" light will come on. Will release as soon as you give any throttle.

My question as well. I have a manual car. I have a HOLD light, but I can't get the function to work.
I just have to put the handbrake on manually, and then when I accelerate away the handbrake automatically disengages without my needing to use the handbrake switch.
Which is fine...but then why do I have HOLD?

For inclines!! Try on a hill and the car will auto hold for about 10 seconds while you get in gear.

True but not on all inclines, for the life of me I don't understand what the parameters are and why the driver can't invoke it manually. Small thing but a miss in my books.

Same here. Doesn't work on inclines for me either.

I tap on the brake and it both goes in to brake hold and a hold light illuminates on the dash. 2023 PDK GTS.

Here is my sure fire way to get the Auto-Hold function to work every time. 1.) Come to a complete stop. 2.) Let up on the brake pedal "almost" all the way, but not so much as to let the car roll. 3.) Now press the brake pedal back down firmly. This actually takes a bit of practice to get the "almost" part of this down right every time, but it does work. Why this procedure is necessary, is a total mystery to me.

Worked every time on my 2020 C4S manual and current 2022 Targa 4S manual.

When on any incline - clutch in, Push break hard.. Release clutch when taking off, break will release once rolling.

Also on an incline - out of gear, no clutch, push break hard - will do it then as well, but only for 10 seconds.

I use this feature about 3-4 times per day, lots of step inclines where I live.

I have a 2023 2S with PDK and I just push the brake pedal hard to engage hold. I can be on either uphill, downhill incline or flat ground. It will hold indefinitely until I press the throttle. I do not have to do any tricks with almost taking pressure off the pedal. It does require pushing it quite hard so don't be afraid to put some pressure on the pedal.
