Top 5 Mods/Additions On A New 992...

just to be clear, only one of us spent our weekend going through the other person’s posts. I’ve spent exactly zero seconds of my life looking into you. And after this reply will never think about you again, Karen.
Now, back to this seemingly popular thread that I started contributing nothing to this forum. 😘

Now kindly STFU.

OK. Im not letting you have the last word on this matter like you have a leg to stand on. You posed a stupid question expecting someone to answer your lazy ***. People who knew the answer would not have gotten anything from the answer so there goes your starting a discussion argument.
Now kindly STFU.

I’m sure you’ll prove what a man you are by getting the last word and proving my point 😘

Why are you being such a schoolgirl? You asked a stupid question, you got a snarky answer. Then you defend yourself by calling me names. Nice. Enjoy your Targa. Blocked.

C'mon guys... people ask stuff that's been asked in the past all the time. If we only asked unique questions, this forum would be like a ghost town. It's merely a jumping off point for us to have some car talk. Soon there will be another manual vs. PDK thread and we will see 10s of pages of the same discussions... yet we all participate anyway.

To get us back on track, one thing that annoyed the heck out of me when I first got my car was how bright the passenger air bag light was so a forum member pointed me to this dark tinted LCD film which is great for toning down the super bright warning:
Here's what it looks like with dark tinted film applied over the warning light:

>> @RudyP :...It is obviously much more exaggerated in Sport mode (which I never use anyway but much reduced now)
Interesting... literally the first thing I do after starting the car is switch to Sport mode to 1) deactivate the start stop (which I know the tune can do) 2) alter the PDK shift points to a more sporty map (otherwise it wants to be in 8th gear at every moment) 3) improve throttle response, firmer engine mounts, etc and just generally how I expect a 911 to feel. Normal mode for me is only if I'm trundling about town. If I really want to hoon I engage Sport+ which bangs off shifts at redline. It's amazing how distinct all the modes are, but I find Sport the right blend.

OK will the 2 usual suspects please calm down?
It's been flagged to us already in the Mod forum, so before we start deleting posts, please calm down. Yes, up-teem questions get asked that have been answered a gazillion times before but there are more polite ways to ask the person to RTFM.
As to the asker, PLEASE use the search field. Folks have spent hours researching and finding out the answers you seek, take a moment of your time and look it up rather than expect it to be served on a platter. Moving on, thanks

Best thing I’ve ever bought for my 992 is a tank of gas…to be consumed on a good mountain pass. But seriously, those AWE foils are a bargain for the benefit they give. After that some decent pads for track days, a trunk liner so things can be chucked in there without concern, and that’s about it.

Speaking of lights that are annoying, I hate when I'm sitting in the middle of an empty parking lot at 3am and the inside lights on both sides keep turning themselves on, is there any way to stop that? Should I just put that film you linked over it? Its kind of annoying in a "this is telling anyone looking that I'm in here" kind of way

It's not an official offering because it's a pretty niche-y requirement. But the M Engineering folks can customize a lot for individual tunes. In my case John Gaydos (Soul Performance) reached out and worked with M Engineering to code a stage 0 tune for the things I cared about.
On the second question, I wanted to eliminate/minimize the farts, pops and crackles in all modes. It is obviously much more exaggerated in Sport mode (which I never use anyway but much reduced now) but there is still some of that crackle on throttle lift in the other modes - it's not as pronounced but it's like a dog whistle to me. I really hate that sound so I wanted it as close to completely gone as possible. Now, the car sounds normal in all modes other than sport and I don't use sport anyway but that is the mode where you'd notice the reduction the most.
I have PSE (bought the car from the lot, I would not have ordered it) but I never use it - if I go to Sport+, I deactivate the exhaust switch.
Yes, I know 95% of you think I'm weird for trying to minimize the exhaust sound when everyone else is looking to add exhaust note but it's about quality of exhaust sound to me and I just don't like the sound of most turbo engines. I have some very nice sounding exhaust note cars (eg F355, Aston Martin V8) and for those cars, I say bring on the noise but I just don't enjoy the tone of modern turbo engines where the engineers have turned up the fartiness to compensate for the loss of natural aspirated, high rpm engine character.
