The bet sports / GT car for the larger than average
I was by a friends house recently and they snapped a photo of me and the 992, Didn't really realize it at the time but jeez I make the car look small, that being said I fit great in it and even need to slide the seat up just a bit. I'm 6 6 and 240 ish, not a lot of fun cars out there that I'm jumping in without some serious sacrifices going on but the 992 is one. I drove a 997 recently and it was certainly tighter, to the point where I wouldn't be able to drive comfortably without buckets in it. So while a lot of people bemoan the slow growth in the 911 and how its become a GT car instead of a sports car for me it makes it something I'm comfortable in.

Porsche accommodates tall people well and if you've been to Germany you can appreciate why, as opposed to Italy for example where I felt like a giant at 6 foot1. BMW motorcycles are notoriously long-legged, a lot of people can't even flat-foot many full size BMW bikes.

Try getting into a Miata. Forget it! And that Alfa 4C, you had to be a contortionist at any height to get into it. McLaren's also, the way the tub is constructed - you have to slide over a wide door sill, all while ducking the low roofline, just to be able to get in it. They improved that situation on the 720 with the way the door also opens the roof so you don't have to duck under it, brilliant design, but then they didn't carry that roof opening over to the Artura.

My brother-in-law is 6'5. He fits in the Porsche 911 and the Audi R8. Don't bother with a Lambo or Ferrari, you will not fit. There is a shop on the DFW area that can build custom lowered seats for you that will allow you to fit in those Italian cars.

German cars in general and Porsches in particular have always been roomy for tall guys (I’m 6’6” also, although you outweigh me by 40 lbs)
I have some smaller cars that require much more accommodation on my part but I make do. But if I need to go for a long road trip, I’d prefer to do it in the 992 or 991 (both are equal in space/comfort IMO)

That's def a photo of a screen, contributing to the 'photo from the sixties' appearance.
Porsche 911 -- since 991 generation -- is the only sports car in which I don't have to put my seat all the way back. I'm 6' 3", long legs, regular torso. I never quite fit in the Aston, which is why I sold it pretty quickly, despite it having been my dream car for a *long* time.
I've also tried several modern Ferraris - F8, SF90, etc; wasn't comfortable in any; which, frankly, saved me a couple hundred K .

Glad to hear about the Ferrrari's and Astons, while I love them I can now take them off my wish list, the wife will be very happy.

I’m 5’10” and I can only wear particular shoes to drive the thing (though I do wear size 12s)

But I could not wear a helmet in most of my cars - good news is the GT3 is the only one I track and with the bucket seats, I have tons of headroom for a helmet in that.

I'm also more willing to cram my 6'6" frame into smaller things than most people would be...
