I wanted to switch to the Porsche insurance but for 8,000 miles a year they want more than $5,000 a year. Not worth it to me to pay 3x more than I do now. Would work great for people who do less miles.

They are agreed value (including the cost of your PPF, mods, etc which is nice)
Guarantee Porsche OEM parts and supposedly fair for diminished value claims.

I have found this to be true after my son got rear ended in his Mustang. They paid and they paid fast. But getting that letter with raised rates every 6 months is irritating. Just checked the policy and it’s $1200 every 6 months for the 911.

That is insane… I suggest finding a car insurance “broker” and let them price shop for you apples to apples coverage for your car and specific needs. Try calling Hagerty and make sure to let them and the broker know if you are part of any car club memberships , affiliations etc that you might qualify for further discounts on.

992 rates by insurance company: estimates for 2023
  • State Farm: $3,500 (less than $2,400 with "enough" deductibles)
  • Geico: $3,200
  • Allstate: $4,000
  • Progressive: $3,600
  • Nationwide: $4,300
  • Farmers: $3,800
These are estimated annual premiums based on typical insurance rates for a 2023 Porsche 992. Actual premiums may vary depending on individual factors such as driving history, location, and choice of deductible. It's recommended to get a personalized quote from each insurance company to determine the exact premium for your specific circumstances.

Here's a general estimate of Porsche 992 maintenance costs by trim level, according to Edmunds:
Remember to keep in mind that these are rough estimates and may vary based on individual situations, such as your location, driving habits, and the specific condition of your car. It's best to consult with a qualified mechanic or Porsche dealership for the most accurate estimates of maintenance costs for your specific Porsche 992 trim.

Not sure I can agree with those estimated maintenance cost for Carrera/S - they should include annual dealer service (2 year, 3 year etc) and those would exceed the entire annual maintenance budget here by 2x.

Seems like some people in here are getting 'bent over'

I bundle my 2023 GT3 with another car, home, rental, umbrella with State Farm and it comes out to less than $1,400 / year for the Porsche. $2,500 deductible.

Agreed value is dumb unless you have a very rare or unique car (like a custom hot rod). ACV is perfectly fine for 99% of Porsches, and there are no silly mileage limits like there are for many agreed value policies. If my $203k GT3 is totaled today, I would get paid what a similar car is selling for today (which if you look at the market, is well above MSRP).

Just my 2 cents

I'm about $1600/year with State Farm. All my insurances are through them. We've made on car claim in 20 years (knock on wood) and it was easy peasy.

Quoting premiums paid without specifying actual coverage doesn’t allow an accurate comparison between owners costs.

Anyone can get a lower or higher premium for their vehicle based on adding or deleting cover and deductible dollar amounts.

Also as has been mentioned multi vehicle packages, low mileage and combining home and umbrella can all impact premiums quoted

Wifes new Q5 is $2,200 for comparison and 2014 CRV is $1,200.

Default Porsche Branded Insurance

Has anyone with Porsche Insurance made any claims? Were you happy with how have they performed with the claim process?

The insurance rate is something to consider, but how the company performs when you actually need them is very important. I’ve had all my insurance with State Farm for over 35 years across 4 different states. I get many discounts since I’ve been with them so long and have everything insured with them. I have a quote from State Farm for my incoming Carrera S for $180/month. I decided to look at other options as well and the lowest cost option was through Porsche Insurance. The base rate is $89/month and $0.098/mile so I can drive 900 miles/month and still be less than State Farm.

Levels of coverage are the same. The only difference is State Farm has $0 deductible for comp whereas the lowest from Porsche is $50. Also, State Farm does actual cash value (ACV) vs. Porsche does agreed value. I put the agreed value at $180,000. Lowering this to $160,000 only dropped the mileage rate to $0.091/mile. When I called Porsche Insurance to ask some questions, it was nice to talk to a knowledgeable, real person. I was expecting someone at a call center outside the US with no knowledge.

Back to my original question: any feedback from users of Porsche Insurance who have made claims?

Get a quote from AAA, I shopped hard 4 years ago after Farmers quit doing business in NY and they are by far, the least expensive carrier I would do business with. USAA would be first but I can't get it.
