992 CS2 front lip
I bought a 2022 CS2 (first 911)/. The bottom of the front lip (the plastic part) is pretty scuffed up from the previous owner. Porsche said the part is $500 plus labor. Does that sound about right? Do you recommend riiding with the lift up to minimize the risk?

yes that’s the cost of the part. The reason it’s scuffed up is probably done during parking , I have the front camera and have to be very careful on curbs and head on parking. Never saw the need to drive with the Lift up

It's not a $500 part (typically $200-300). It's also super easy to install.
It snaps in and there are a handful of screws. It does require more force to unsnap than you'd expect, but it's as easy as it gets -- like wiper blade easy.

I swapped out that part for the sport version through Suncoast for much less that $500. The original lip was hard to get out and I ripped it at one of the tabs, but I was going to throw it out anyway.

It depends on whether you have the stock front bumper or the SportDesign front bumper. If you have the stock front bumper, the plastic lower lip is about $300 (used to be just $200). If you have the SportDesign front bumper, that lower lip costs $665 (used to be only $500) and you still have to paint it, unless you want to run it unpainted like on a GTS.

It's a good job to feel like you're "wrenching" your own car without requiring any technical skill to do so. You'll be on the ground. You get to do stuff with a tool. Then, enjoy a lovely beverage, satisfied with a job well done.

It's very obvious. The new lip comes with replacement screws. Just make sure that you remove all of the old ones (same count) and you'll be fine.

If you decide to order it and install it yourself, make sure you get the correct front lip (either lip is interchangeable). Sport suspension (SPASM) cars have a front lip that protrudes slightly more than the non sport suspension cars. I currently have the non SPASM lip and plan to replace it with the SPASM lip.
