I like the look of tinting the brake light regardless of if the tail light is red or clear. I plan to do that if I ever get a car.

Also, I just noticed the pricing.. they were $269 a year ago.

I had the same dilemma when spec'ing my GB 2s. I ultimately went with red and like the look. I put the money toward other features.

my unpopular opinion is that the clear tails on the 992 make the rear look unfinished and cheap to me. I much prefer the red (rare instance in my life of preferring a cheaper route).
the Oak Green build above with black calipers pulls it off pretty well so it can be done, but generally I think you are better off speccing the standard.

Python Green on the T and I chose clear. Will likely do satin black reflectors from bumperplugs to finish it off properly.

In addition to the above post mentioning it depends on the exterior colour, another factor to consider is whether you personally like the combination of the tail light colour and the car exterior colour. In many instances red clashes with blue, however, IMO the red reflective markers on the rear bumper and the red callipers on a S model are enough to subtly match the red tail light on a gentian blue car. Where I would personally draw the line is a gentian blue car and red interior, which unfortunately are my two favourite colours for the respective categories

I was going to go with Python and absolutely needed to have the clear. I didn't want a Chirstmas theme. Then I switched to black. Not only do I not need to spend the $1k, I actually think the red looks better than clear on black.
