Default 992 GTS No LWB - ETA Tracking Thread

All - seems like the bucket seats haven't been available on new 992 GTS orders for a few months.

Has anyone gotten an ETA or any estimates on when they will be available? I'm not in a rush to get my 992 and can wait for another allocation but getting worried we might not see the LWB until the 992.2 GTS.

I will share any updates I get from my SA and wanted to create this thread so we can share what we are hearing.

Porsche Confirmed to dealers via the internal Porsche messaging board about a month ago that all Models will be removing the LWCB option for the remainder of MY23... EXCEPT for the GT4RS, GT3RS and Dakar which will still be available with LWCB. Porsche said they hope to resolve the issue for MY24 vehicles, but are not making any promises for any vehicles outside of the ones just listed... Things may improve, but that was a direct message from the Porsche Cars NA message board to all dealers

Thanks. It doesn't seem like my dealer was aware.

Well - looks like I'm getting a MY24 if a GTS is available. Otherwise, it will be MY25 and may just jump into a GT3 at that point if ADMs are not too crazy by then...

Makes sense... This announcement was just a few weeks back and was referring to all future 2023 builds... I'm guessing they fulfilled those that were already past their freeze point which yours would have been. Congrats... you have many envious 992 owners on order without them

Huge bummer! I was really looking forward to those bucket seats. I'm sure I'll still love the car but it took the wind out of my sails finding this out.

Update to the group - my build with bucket seats has been pushed back by Porsche and switched to the 18-way lightweight package.

No ETA confirmed from my dealer yet on when buckets may be available if I chose to decline the current allocation and wait for the next one with LWB available.

I'll post back if I hear anything about LWB becoming available. Otherwise, the best info is above that LWB will be back with MY24.

So “lightweight” package with both the heaviest seats and mandatory RAS? Maybe it’s just me but that seems backwards.

Agreed with you. It's a pretty stupid package. Weight saving is probably 0. You are also overpaying because summing all the options individually is cheaper. Only difference is that its the only way to delete the rear seats.

The package with buckets makes sense because the buckets are 6k, RAS 2k. The package is 9k and includes other good stuff like additional aero and lightweight glass.

FYI I also heard from dealer that buckets won't be available until MY24.

If 992.2 comes out with MY24 then no 992 GTS lightweight until MY25.

Has anyone gotten any new information on LWB? I emailed Porsche NA and they are not responding to me. My SA seems to be hopeful they will be back before 992.2

I figure if 992.2 gts goes hybrid manual option will be gone. So having said that if they killed the LWB for my2023 then the lightweight package with manual and buckets is officially dead.

LWB are back available after PNA confirmed they were unlikely to return before MY24, Unfortunately my car entered production today. Rather annoyed if i had to be honest.
