I personally am with you in that I wouldnt option this car with the features you listed... but for $10K extra I think you do get access to a number of pretty impressive engineering features that a base simply does not offer. Oh plus somethings are inlcuded like sports exhaust and the 20/21in offset wheels that you would be paying extra for in the base car too...

I dont know why im making an argument for something I wouldnt do, but I guess I do understand why people are making this decision

PS. I have to correct myself... I got the 18-way seats haha... but everything else is T specific and special
I forgot about the RAS, etc. I’ve tried the buckets a few time over the years and I find them quite comfortable once seated. Getting in and out is not quite as enjoyable for me. I’ve become a big fan of the 18s.

I am waffling fairly heavily on this these days. Fortunately, I have about a month left until my freeze date.

I figured I'm paying for them anyway, so get them and take them out if I don't need/want them.

I like your logic.

Reviving an old thread here with a rear seat delete question. I need rear seats (or actually just latch anchors top and bottom for car seats) but all the used 992 T builds seem to have rear seat delete. I can see the top latch anchor point, but can anyone confirm if the two lower latch points are there? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Im pretty certain the lower latch points are deleted along with the seatbelt attachment points but could be wrong about that. I remember there being a difference when you could see the bare metal in different people's build photos

Rear seat delete might work better with a child seat installation.

For those that had no choice and bought a car with rear seats, has anyone figured out how to remove them for the increased storage space and weight loss? I see Suncoast Parts sells two carpet pieces that look like would be needed...

But can the seat belts be removed easily, and how about any sensor wires connected to them?

FYI, the weight loss of everything removed only equals 21.5 lbs. Someone has previously removed everything from their car and weighed it. Doesn’t seem worth it for $1450 and that is prior to your state’s sale tax that Suncoast is going to tack on. They also charge additionally to ship oversized items which these would qualify for.

In fairness, that didn’t include the belts (6-7 lbs) but you need to add back in the carpet pieces so it’s going to be close to a wash.

I would like to know if you need both carpet pieces. I also noticed a big bracket in the center where the sear back bracket was and it isn’t clear if that needs to removed or is covered by the above carpet shelf.

~25 lbs isn’t a lot of weight, but if you are looking to try and make as light a street comfortable 992 as you can it’s one of the bigger single modifications you can make.

This is the list I have in my head:
- 40 lbs: Antigravity battery in place of AGM
- 24 lbs: Rear seat removal
- 22 lbs: Manthey racing wheels
-18 lbs: Akrapovic muffler
-12 lbs: AP Racing brake kit

That totals 116 lbs and should bring my car down to around 3190 with a full fuel load.

FWIW - -36.5lb for the 40ah antigravity vs porsche AGM. I weighed mine when I swapped.

You could also look at swapping in a ducktail and deleting the active rear wing mechanism to save some weight, I forget how much but I want to say it’s another 15 +. There are a few lbs in the cats too if you want to. Then there are always buckets if you don’t have them….

If I am recalling correctly, it did include the seatbelts. I have a screenshot of it on one of my devices, but it will take me some time to locate it, but when I do I will gladly post it in this thread.

Perhaps you saw another post, but this was the picture I posted after removing the back seats and buckles, but leaving the actual belts and reels in place. That also only included one buckle, but I posted the weight with both at 21.5 lbs.
