Allocation Time Lines at Present

Unfortunately, there is a decent chance that either of those timelines carries you past the availability of the 992.1 model and both the T and GTS trims will likely not be available early in the 992.2 cycle.

If you're considering the T already, what about the Base and the S?
Also, you might be able to negotiate a better lead time on your new 911 once you have a used one to offer up as trade-in bait.
Finally, have you talked to dealers in Sacto and the Bay Area about allocations?

Spot on Nein Eleven.
I’m also considering 4S…which may help solve the 992.1 vs 992.2 model year transition mentioned by Drew46.
Does the trade-in benefit require the purchase from same dealer where you get an allocation?
If so, will definitely need to expand my search to Sacramento/Bay Area as the options are limited in Reno.

This back log of 911s we’ve all heard are from supply chain issues seeding back to the pandemic. So people are making bold predictions that things will improve since lockdowns are currently behind us and economic activity has slowed. But could there be another reason lurking that didn’t exist to the degree it did 4 years ago? A fear of being left out, and the toilet paper effect. It plays in to human emotions. The culprit could be the EV revolution and the constant bombardment of news with countries and providences pledging to ban ICE vehicles, not allowing any new construction of gas stations and the never ending emissions reductions. If that is what’s driving the 911 market, I’m afraid to say things may never go back to the way they were. I hope I’m wrong.

I asked my salesman for a Carrera T allocation in early December, he said they were waiting for more allocations and put me on a list. I just was told I have an allocation last week at MSRP, production 03/2023 and expected delivery 05/2023. I do have a relationship though, 2 991 Targas, a Macan S, Taycan 4S and GT4.

I'm waiting for a Targa 4. Still not even an allocation!
- first placed order August 2021 with a dealer A (17 months ago). I was first in line on the waitlist
- In early Feb 2022 (almost 12 months ago) switched to dealer B who is a relatively new dealer that gets higher allocations, told me dealer A gets very few allocations, reassured me I'd get an allocation in fall 2022 . I was 7th on the list, had to put down an ADM.
- as of December I was 4th on the list at dealer B. Might get an allocation towards the end of the year. So I suspect I will be 24+ months from initial order to delivery!
Anyone else up there with me?
Am I setting the record?
(Do I regret switching dealers, maybe)

So overall the car took just over 4 months from the date the order was submitted.

Hi, what is the latest month people received an allocation (any model) and what is the delivery month for that allocation?
I'm trying to understand where I could land optimistically if I got an allocation and estimate the delivery.
That way I can measure that against my patience on buying something CPO.
Thanks

in early Apr 22. Have had a maintenance relationship with dealer for over 4 years. No prior purchases from dealer.
