Lock date approaching: Opinion on final build
Hi folks,
I’m a couple weeks out from my freeze date for my 1st ever C2! Excited!
I’ve been vacillating between a couple options and wanted your feedback (thank you!):
Color: A1 Black or Agate Grey —- I’m leaning towards Agate as I live in Texas and have owned a black car for 11 years.
Wheels: Satin Black S wheels, Spyder wheels or Classics.
My taste is “sporty but sophisticated”. Here’s the build I’m leaning towards and images of the four I’m considering: http://www.porsche-code.com/PPEMYC30

Something to keep in mind regarding wheels.
The Carrera exclusive design wheels and Turbo style wheels are actually forged.
The other options are not.

The silver trim along the windows goes very well with the classic wheels and adds an element of elegance to the car IMHO.

Why not try something new. I vote Agate.

I vote Agate.
Black cars look great when in a vacuum. But it shows too much dust and nicks for me, plus you live in Texas.

Thanks folks. One thing about Agate is it looked quite good in person when I saw it recently. I’ve also seen some really dull looking pictures online (the ones above are some good ones)….any thoughts on how it ages / fades away against sun exposure over time, relative to A1 black (which I also realize is tough to keep pristine)?

The one in the first photo looks best to me. I'm personally very biased against all black Porsches. Agate is one of the most underrated colors. Looks great in person. I'm in Texas too. I attend lots of events and have seen lots of Porsches in different colors. Plain black is the least flattering to me on modern Porsches. If black is a must at least Jet Black Metallic has some character.

If you do Carrera Classics or RS Spyder wheels, make sure that there’s something else in your build to compliment the silver portions of the wheel. Brightwork (silver window trim) works really well but it’s also a big commitment whereas silver exhaust tips and silver badging are lower key options.
