Thoughts on Heritage Design Leather Interior?
I have a C4S cab allocation for June and I'm seriously considering spec'ing the Heritage Design Leather Interior Classic in Pepita/Cognac. When I first saw the interior I was like wow that's awesome looking (I've been kind of obsessed with fabric inserts since seeing them on GT3 buckets) but the $16k price tag seemed like a non-starter. So I made my build with the black/chalk sport-tex which was still a similar concept in that it had (non alcantara) fabric inserts. I liked this combo but didn't love it as it was a little too all black for my tastes (the chalk stitching and adding chalk seat belts helped some). Then after going through some builds it comes down to about $10k premium over a full two tone leather or black/chalk sport-tex combo in what I'd consider a minimally acceptable build and really "only" about $5k once I added things that would be highly desirable but not absolutely critical to me like something other than the standard interior trim, leather seat backs, and colored tach/chrono.
Open to a discussion about the package in general but also specifically for me (C4S cabriolet used as a sort of daily driver with gentian blue exterior purchased by someone who isn't super cost sensitive but money does still have relevance and at least plans to keep the car for 10 years or so).
Anyone have this or seen it in person? Do we know what the pepita/houndstooth fabric is made from and/or how durable it is? I try my best not to be a slob, but no one will accuse me of babying my cars.

The word is CLASH! First I've seen the limited edition car in person, the interior is a crime and made me sick when I saw it. Way to go Porsche! Do a car that is hideous! I'd call the Feds and ask if I could get into the witness relocation program if I ordered the car!! Proof you can screw up a good thing!! Hey do not order this interior!! the colors do NOT work together. Everyone at the dealership agreed!. You should get a free bowl of soup if select this option!!
There is something for everyone, not all buyers want black leather interiors. In any event, I am quite happy with my combination of Brewster Green and Heritage interior.

I have a 2022 992 Targa 4S with the sport tex (cloth seats). Love the look and feel. I also have the 991.2 GT3 Touring with the Pepita seat inserts (mine is with the black leather buckets - love it..
Love it so much, I placed an order to get an allocation for a new targa 4s which I will do PTS (oak green) and this very interior. Very classy looking! I wish they would have offered this option about 6 months earlier, as it was not available when I spec'd my 2022 Targa. Would have saved me a lot of time and money :-)

My ideal S build before I decided to get a T was with the heritage interior in Cognac. The fact that it is so hard to find one to look at shows how rare it is, and I think it will make your car really unique. The $10k premium is a lot, but for a car that is already expensive and which you’re going to keep for 10 years, it’s worth it.

Spending ~$150K on a car you plan to keep ~10 years...don't talk yourself out of something that really stirs you when it comes down to only about a $5K difference. Get what you LOVE.

I have it. I absolutely love it. It makes the car SO much more special. I wouldnt think about getting it for a second if I were to order again. It’s beautiful. I’m also happy to give you a FaceTime tour or whatever if you want. Just message me. I wished I could have seen it more first but have no regrets

I have it in my car. I've literally been waiting the best part of 20 years for Porsche to offer an interior like this. I had the new style Pepita from the 50th edition car in my 991.2 targa and loved that but this Heritage Design interior is just on a different level as the Cognac leather is a higher quality hide. The fabric looks to be very hard wearing and will have been tested to high standards to meet German TUV regulations. When I had my PPF and ceramic coating applied I had Gtechnique Smart Fabric applied to the Pepita cloth as it provides a waterproof barrier that lasts up to a year to prevent staining. It is easy to re-apply when the time comes. https://www.gtechniq.co.uk/shop/auto...-smart-fabric/

I’m not sure what it is. It feels fairly sturdy though. The leather smells awesome though. It’s a different type of leather than standard

There aren't many non-performance options I would argue for when specifying a performance car, but that interior is awesome.

As awesome as it looks, I really wish they offered other color leathers besides cognac.
Another option is just get the standard leather and then do this aftermarket:
