Default Drained Battery

I went to start my 2020 Base 992 this morning. It would not start and was giving an error message that there was a problem with my parking brake. I then attached my battery tender. After 3 hours, I was able to start the car. The dealer says there is a software update to correct some excessive battery draining issues. Has anyone else experienced this or has heard of the issue/update? Thanks.

i don’t have rear wheel steering and keep the car on a battery tender if I’m not driving it for a couple of weeks. I drove it 7 days ago and all was fine. Never experienced this before. Thanks

I thus assume you have FWIW an AGM battery. I would still get the software upgrade as you most likely have a phantom drain that's slowly killing your battery. I outline which document you need to mention to your dealer to have this done in the thread mentioned above by @aggie57.

GL and keep us posted if you have it done and whether it made things better.

Understand; neither do I but the software issue mentioned came on unexpectedly for me as well, after 2 years of no issues including leaving the car idle for weeks at a time without a tender. My gut feel is that it was introduced in the service I had in June but who really knows.

Some things are just believed as acts of faith...my take all along was that it was crap coding in the BMS module. Just my 2 cents

Service scheduled for 12/28. Until then it’s on the tender every night.
