I have to admit I’ve been waiting for his retort and having another laugh at his expense. Carry on little dildoman.

To the comments about paying cash..I offered to finance through the dealership and keep the loan with them for whatever period of time was beneficial to the dealership. Soon after that, I received an allocation after a 9 month wait for an S cab. No ADM, either.

On a side note…I find the OP’s username quite humorous. All cards on the table, I am a 47 year old male with the sense of humor of a nine year old, but still.

I thought it was funny also. And I asked my dealer about whether they cared about financing or cash and they didn’t seem to care one way or another. And this was after I already received an allocation.

true, should have clarified it was my SA and I was coming from the point of whether it would help out any on the pricing side. This was after I received the allocation, not going to the dealership for the first time trying to get a car.

Interesting.

To be honest, I was trying anything short of a moonlit ritual to get an allocation. Could be the finance option had nothing to do with me
getting the allocation but thought I would share.

I encountered this with a mini dealership several years ago and they offered to give a better price on the car if we would finance with them and hold for at least three months. After that time period, we could pay off.

I openly negotiate this on every car. First question is how long do I have to hold it for you to not get clawed back. Then it's just simple math on the Interest vs. price concession vs. whatever incentives with the lenders they may have.
Can often be a win / win...e.g. you give me a high markup item free and i pay 3 to 6 months spread on interest vs investment. They can't force you not to prepay...so its trust and you control it.

But as noted cash is not helpful, I walk in now and say I'm willing to finance the whole thing.
