This is all (mostly!) really helpful advice. Sounds like the ADM quoted is within the reasonable range (although perhaps on the higher side) and that's what I wanted to know. I'd gladly pay MSRP and wait (I'm doing EU delivery so I can use the car over there for a few months before sending it back stateside) and, as I've been waiting so long already the wait isn't a huge issue and I've still got my 991 4S to keep wind in my hair. But I'd pay MSRP +$15K in a heartbeat if it meant I actually got an order in, fully knowing I'll still be waiting. I've actually been trying to buy this for over a year and - despite multiple calls/emails/visits to the local dealer (there's only one in my city) - I never got promised an actual slot until May after referring the issue to Porsche USA. But maybe they're pissed that I brought in Corporate and that's why they 'lost' my slot and all of my emails over the past 6 months.

As far as which dealership, I'd rather not say. I'm sure there are great people there and I'm definitely happy to assume this was all an honest mistake. But if I'm still on these forums trying to buy a 992 another six months from now maybe I'll have a different take.

As an aside, my purchasing experience on a Grenadier was infinitely better than anything I've ever had with Porsche - I put down a deposit online, got in a queue presumably based on when my deposit went in regardless of if I'm a "someone" or not, and got an email last week saying it'll be here in March or April. And it costs what the website said it would cost - nothing more or less. Buying a car really doesn't need to be this hard...

Thanks again!

Like when I hurt myself I usually laugh. Definitely laugh when others hurt themselves. And I love funny comedians. And my kids think I'm downright hilarious when I get mad (as long I'm not mad at them) and say I belong on a stage when I'm pissed. Gotta laugh a little bud.

No, I wasn't.

It works.

You can laugh if you want, but it works.

Obviously, you do you.

Well, if you weren't joking it still made me laugh a bit. So thanks for that. Anything that makes me smile is a good thing. Doesn't happen as often as I'd like.

We should all smile more.

It makes the world a better place.

And more importantly, it makes us better humans.

It’s actually pretty genius. I do wonder if they’d get a call when they saw their same info on a bunch of different builds. As long as it isn’t some weird build, I wouldn’t think the dealers would care. Most would probably like to have an on the lot/in stock 992 to sell. I could be wrong though.

We did this when we ordered a 991.2 GT3 RS.

We had put in three deposits for the GT3 RS at three local SoCal dealers, each at varying ADMs (between 15 to 25k).

Put down deposits of 5k (if I recall correctly all three dealers really just wanted CC info and never ran the card).

When the cars arrived, we were able to negotiate one car down to 3k, another to 2k but we had to buy a few dealer add ons, and another for 1k.

We took the one with 1k, but got a bunch of goodies on delivery, like clear LEDs, mugs, key chains, a Porsche Martini Racing Jacket, and miniature model of our car.

What @ipse dixit suggested isn't wrong or against the rules. I spoke to a SA at Porsche Columbus a few weeks ago, because back in 2021, I was on two local lists. I asked him if PCNA would have cared if I took an allocation from each dealer, and he said no, they (PCNA) have no control over it.

Maybe we would all smile more if we could get allocations without ADMs

Not really. When the dealers enter in a "demand order" into the Porsche system, in my experience, they can't see if the same customer has a demand order at multiple dealers, or they don't care. When we were shopping for my wife's Macan last year we had demand orders at 6 different dealers and we did exactly what ipse said...turned down the first 2 allocations that came through and the third dealer agreed to sell at MSRP.
From what I experienced, most of the dealers have smartened up a bit and now take significant deposits, which can be nonrefundable (depending on state), once they actually allocate the car to you and order it...so you can't just wait for the car to arrive and try to negotiate.

Good to see some people fighting back against the ADM system.

One of my friend did this - got on the list at two different dealers and ended up with 2 GT3... He also paid over $100k in ADM but that's not the point

My local dealer has no ADM on any no GT car except the GTS at 25k. But there is a long list for each car. GT cars are another story.
