New Jersey roads finally got to my C2S after a year of ownership! Don’t know if the repair kit can handle this? Car is currently parked in a garage so I haven’t called Roadside assistance just yet. Thoughts? Thanks!
Since the damage is toward the center of the tire, if it was me, I would take the tire off the car and have it professionally repaired instead of using the repair kit. This would help ensure the useful life of the tire unless you plan on tracking the car of course.
Is that truly a flat tire? Not sure if it went thru or not.
It happened right as I was entering my parking garage. I didn’t get an immediate TPMS warning but it clearly doesn’t look good. I’m calling roadside this afternoon but if it still isn’t losing air by then, you may be correct. Thanks

I have put 1,000 of miles on tires that I have plugged and have exceeded public speed limits. Have had both professional plugs and home jobs. Not sure who I trust more.
I would personally would not track a plugged tire. YMMV
A plug is cheaper and possible in that area. It's a problem if the shrapnel is at an angle, because the plug repair size is limited. Here's a plug 4,000 miles later where a screw was jammed in my rear winter tire. I had bought the wheel/tire coverage, so it was no cost. I had to pump up the tire twice on the way to the dealer. It sticks out a ways, but doesn't cause any noise or problems, so far.
For me - that's too close to the sidewall. I would replace the tire.
If it was more centrally located, I'd have no problem get the tire patched (just recently did this on my 993), but I'd avoid plugs in any case.
I thought I heard if hole is in the tread block next to the sidewall, replacement is advised. FWIW, I had mine "patched", and kept as a spare, in these times of COVID related shortages.
I decided to replace the tire…towing to the dealer now. Based on some of the comments —shrapnel definitely entered at an angle and it’s in the tread block next to the sidewall. Pirelli’s are in stock so I’ll be back on the road tomorrow.
