Default Bent Rim Repair Success

I drove through a construction zone and swerved to miss several riprap and while doing so, ended up driving over a large riprap that I didn't see on the left side of the car damaging both left wheels and tires. The workers witnessed and admitted fault, and while awaiting their insurance to replace both wheels and tires to the tune of $7000, I'm wandering if anyone has had any luck having Carrera Classic wheels repaired on a 992 S? I also would like to know if anyone who have had bent rims have also had any other damage to the suspension components? Nothing else appears to be damaged, and the hubs turn true when wheel is off, but I also realize there are many components in the suspension that I can't see either.

That's an easy fix. We have a local shop called Wheel Medic that does a lot of work for dealerships. If you live in a decent sized city, I'm sure you have a shop.

Had something similar happen on my 991 rear a few years ago. Drove home for 25 miles with bad wobble with rim that was bent laterally like a potato chip. Wheel was repaired and no issues with suspension either. Easy fix. These cars are tougher than we think.

Also had similar problems with a 991 wheel. Sent it to shop somewhere in the northeast and don't recall the name anymore. They were a major company in this business. I found them by Google. Just didn't trust the local folks in smaller metro area. Wheel came back looking brand new.

Not on the 992, but I've had similarly bent wheels on a BMW 3 series (F30 series) wheel repaired successfully. Not sure where you are located, but the shop we used was: https://northeastwheelrepair.com/ in the Boston area. I believe same day turn around too IIRC.

If insurance is giving you new wheels anyway, I'd def repair your current ones until then... and keep the repaired ones as backups after your new ones are sorted out.

I appreciate the feedback. I did have the wheels repaired yesterday, and both were repaired back to within 1/10000th. So I'm just waiting on new tires to come in, get installed and take for a spin.

What's surprising is that I found a complete set, new wheels and summer tires from Suncoast for cheaper than the 2 replacement wheels without the tires. :-o

I haven't had this happen on the 911 thankfully, but had some form of bent rims on all four of my forged wheels on the 135is. One rim was similar to that on the inside and all four got repairs and balanced nicely for just a few hundred dollars, which was much more affordable than the alternative. Oddly, I didn't really notice any vibration beforehand or after.
