Default Love my new C2S but might need to sell

First off, I LOVE my new C2S Cab MT and now i may be forced to sell, URG! I pick the car up in July and only have 850 miles on it due to the amount of travel I have had to do for work. After a few weeks I noticed that after driving I was getting some pain in my hip, I chalked it up to being tired and traveling on planes etc. Well, that's not the case, looks like I need a hip replacement, (FYI I'm only in my 50's, so that sucks) I have not reached out to my dealer yet but from what I am seeing on the Porsche located a couple of things stand out:
1) Only a handful of CAB MT, and a lot of them are GTS;s only one "S"
2) Shocked by the asking price of some of the 20's and 21's , more then I paid for my 22'

So, I what are people seeing in reality? Below is my spec's, not a heavily optioned car. List price was $138,500. Not really looking to sell privately, do not have time to waste on all the lookers and/or people who don't have the $ and are just a waste of time
2022 C2S cab MT
Blk/Blk top/tan
Premium Pkg
Carrera Classic wheels
Embossed headrest
Chrono pkg, (std with MT)
painted center caps

Why not just park it until after your hip replacement. Probably only a 3 or 4 month wait at the most. Hips are NOT knees. Hip replacements heal really fast in comparison.

My sister-in-law just had a hip replacement. She is in her 70’s, and it took her less than 2 weeks to be up and walking around her neighborhood (she lives on the tough streets of Philly, so being able to run is a critical attribute. &#128514. Maybe it depends on what’s replaced and the Dr’s skills, but she claims it’s “no big deal” and was basically fully operational in just a couple of weeks being laid up.

Good luck.

Yes! Hip replacements get your mobility back....FAST.

I had a broken ankle two years ago (left foot) and had to park my 991.1 Cab Manual for three months. But I got back in it eventually. I tore my hamstring three weeks ago, and had to park my 992 Cab for three weeks, today is the first time back in it driving. (Age 68) / You will recover! Don't sell it for that reason alone - if you are no longer enjoying it, then that's another thing altogether. But its a good time to cash out right now. Either put it on BAT or run it by your Porsche dealers if you don't want to sell privately. Most people don't want to buy privately anyways and are a PITA at this level car.... I get that for sure.

Plug it into a battery maintainer, replace your hip, recover, unplug it, and drive!

It will be your post-surgery reward

Thanks for the feedback, Maybe I just got surprised by the Diagonostic and over-reacting my other option is to find a PDK

Just for the heck of it, OP can get a quote from Carmax, Carvana, etc. especially before going to the dealer.

We ambulate our hips same day of surgery, I understand the overreaction , 50 and hip replacement makes you think it’s over , but just park the car for a bit .. you will hate yourself when you see how fast you recover, how good you feel and realize you don’t have a car anymore .

I would add…what’s your rush. Have the hip replacement and then evaluate how you feel 2-3 weeks after. If it looks like a long journey, then sell the car then.

Carvana and CarMax are NOT places to sell a 992. They don't want it, and they don't know what to do with it.

Most your buyers for that car want Porsche CPO on it as well. They want a dealer to bless it with Stuttgart Holy Water - hence the dealer is the best place to sell it, or even consign it.

Pcarmarket.com is also a good place to sell to Porsche enthusiasts as well

Hip replacement surgery today is very different than even a few years ago.

I don’t see that as any reason to sell your car.

It appears you've lost your mind. Maybe you really need a brain replacement. I kid, I kid.

What others have said. You'll be just fine. Give it a whirl, get the old ball and socket dealio all snuffed up to 2022 standards and then give the car a toss around town.

You'll really hate yourself if you sell it and then realize things are just back to normal with your body in a few months.

Take that recovery time to make getting into the car a goal, detail it, polish it, completely detail the the interior, or just sit home and drink martinis for a few weeks (not on meds tho, but each to their own) and you'll be ready to get back in there!

I suggest you get a second opinion from another doctor or go to a good Physio therapist.
That’s what I’d do before I would let them replace any of my joints.
