Get the automatic in case your Mom may need to drive it…..

In Sport mode the car will rev match during down shifts. So it's basically an automatic already. I agree with what someone else said above. I wanted a manual I was 100% committed, I wouldn't even consider a PDK. If you're on the fence just get the PDk. Resale will be better.

Manual is the only way to go with the 992. People who get the PDK have no taste and get mad if you say that

Every single review online from people who actually drove the manual 992 and a pdk is a positive one and picks the manual over pdk. Every single time. Most people giving opinions on the 992 manual in this forum have never used it, you cant simply go to a dealership to try one out as these cars are not available. Its important to understand this when you are trying to decide what to order.

Kind of what happened to me, actually. Was killing time at the dealer while getting work done on my Macan when I noticed a 7MT sitting in the lot. Think it was a lease return. SA put some plates on it for me and let me take it out for a spin. Helped cement my decision to stay the course with a manual for my order.
Might be worth having your dealer keeping an eye out for you.

I have had five Porsche sports cars including boxster s and am on my second 911, first with a PDK. The six speed in the boxster is better than the seven speed 911 MT. Shorter, lighter, throws. Lighter clutch in Boxster S (never had 718). . The PDK optimizes the technology in the 992 car, especially with a turbo. Boxster go MT. 911 go PDK. I use the car more often for errands with the PDK as local traffic in NY metro is awful.

Buy two, one of each with MT and PDK. Bad night, didn't sleep well or that long run or hike or bike ride was tiring and legs are hurting, the next morning PDK with a cup of strong coffee in the center holder. Other days, you feel well rested, morning sex hasn't exhausted you and you want to engage more with the car and don't mind shifitng your own gears, drive the MT. Also depends on your age. It is all subjective. Best to have one of each.
