Default First scratch - recommendation for LA body shop to fix in LA?

Hello, got my first scratch after 2 yrs. I am new to LA (live on the west side); any recommendation on a body shop to go to to fix this? I really appreciate your suggestion. How much would be the damage, you think? Thanks,
First scratch

Call Moe Mistry at 888 459.7130 in Costa Mesa. He is known for PPF and detailing, but he also helped me out with a small scratch on my spoiler. He has a guy (not sure who "the guy" is), but Moe can hook you up.

It’s low on the bumper if it was me I would look for a detailer that can do some light sanding and air brush it ..otherwise you’re going end up with having the whole bumper re-sprayed and then they’re going blend clearcoat onto the fenders. Then when you sell the car some guy is going to show up with the paint cage and think you had the fenders repainted because the clearcoat will add thickness to the paint compared to the other body panels.carl

To fix that correctly a quality body shop will remove the bumper cover and refinish the entire bumper cover after doing some repair on the site of the damage. If they know how to paint there is NO need to blend into the fenders (and I would NOT want them to blend). I'm guessing that would cost in the $600-$1000 range. It's a nice car - fix it correctly. IF you only airbrush it and then clear coat it there will be an edge / seam where they mask the bumper cover off from the fender. Hard edges / seams like that are notorious for peeling over time.

I’ve had bumper scratches airbrushed someone skilled will not mask off the area they can work very fine small areas with an airbrush. After it dries they wet sand and then clearcoat and polish done properly very hard to detect if you can detect it being low on the bumper. The less you do the better off you’re going be less chance for unintended consequences. other thing to remember is bumpers are plastic and very seldom are they perfect matches with the body panels. So if you have a good match don’t push your luck little paint as possible. Just my opinion

That is one of the easiest repairs out there. A skilled touch up shop will be able to make that disappear without removing the bumper or any hint this ever happened. 1K or less. Whoever said less is more is correct. No blending or removing bumper for that repair location. Most likely those option will only make is worse. High metallic flake silver is also an easy color to get right. Don't worry about this at all when you find a good shop.

Don’t fix it because no one will notice it down there. Drive and enjoy the car. If you do, it won’t be the only bumper scratch you experience. Get some touch up paint to hide the contrasting black. Then a little rubbing compound followed by polishing compound.

When you have several scratches on the bumper, THEN seek professional help.

Because insurance companies will look for any reason to raise your rates

@Macsalad Not sure if you ever got this fixed. But I'm a PACC in West LA and I'd be happy to help you. I might talk you out of using insurance. There are factors like deductible amount, rental coverage, premium raise.... But also, I might talk you out of actually doing the work. Everything has pros/cons. I've been told (in addition to being a good body shop) I can be a good sounding board to help you make the best decision for you. Look me up... Collision Consultants (Sam)
