Default Scrapped my painted side skirt on a curb

Yesterday I cut too close to a low curb pulling out of a parking lot and scrapped the right side of my side skirt. I was going maybe 5 km/h

It isn't noticeable unless I bend down and look almost at ground level. (See pics)

Other than the cosmetics of it...is there anything to worry about? I.e. potential structure damage or removal of any coating?

I'm assuming the skirt itself is fiber glass so it won't corrode.

Thanks

Use some touch up paint and forget about it.

Thanks. How would I prepare the surface?

Isn't the side skirt made out of ABS plastic? I would just drive it as is since it may get scraped again. But, if you want to repair it right, I would take off the skirt and take it to a body shop. It may cost $100-$200?

I doubt its fiberglass, more likely ABS Plastic or just steel / aluminum. Should have an "orange peel" texture surface.

Easy fix, but some rattle can paint in your color code and some clear coat, some painters tape, and 220 grit wet sandpaper. Lightly wet sand, Tape off. Paint it, Clear it. Done.

I was going to make a post asking for opinions on painted versus unpainted sport design side skirts for my GR GTS - and now I have my answer! I can hardly see the scratch, I would forget about it at least until service time and then consider a touch up or just letting it go.

I am not a paint guy, but at a minimum I would clean the area with alcohol prior to touching up so the paint adheres better. In this situation, I think less is more.

There is absolutely nothing structural about that piece. This is why I didn't opt for painted skirts; prefer those low bits to be able to take a beating and then replace them if/when they get too bad. You can take this opportunity to swap for the GT3 skirts if it bothers you, otherwise clean it up and ignore.
