Default 2022 911 Carrera - worth it?

I ordered a very well equipped 2022 911 coupe, at MSRP. I live in the San Francisco Bay area and was told that I should feel good about getting the vehicle at msrp. My only hesitation at this point is that I understand there will be some improvements in the 2023 models and with the economy taking a downturn I am wondering if there are better deals to be had. Also, I'm not sure how many of these vehicles will be produced due to supply constraints and a number of other issues that have occurred over the last year or so - so maybe there is some value in the 2022 models that I'm not seeing. Would appreciate any feedback or advice on taking delivery of the vehicle or pushing and waiting for a 2023 model. Thanks in advance for any feedback!

As I get older, and seeing more and more people of similar age die, it becomes more important to enjoy things while you can.

Your health and money can change at any point.

From what I understand the 22 and 23s are the same except for a few different colors. Plus you will save around 6K. Unless you are reselling in the next few years, the 22 is a better deal.

There is a price increase from MY22 to MY23. If your delivery is soon, it sounds like a winner. If it gets delayed and forced into MY23, I think you maybe price protected.

Something is off here. You cannot order, config and take delivery still of a 22. 23s have been coming for a bit. Production switched over in August. Unless your car was built in late July or August and is due any day due to being on a ship, I think any car you are ordering is a 23.

In that case, take the '22 at a cheaper price than the '23. You won't get deal on a '23 as availability is still low enough that the dealers aren't offering anything below MSRP that I've heard about AND you get it at a $5k discount b/c the '23s had a price increase. Other than that I can't think of any reason to delay getting what is coming to you for virtually the same exact car. In fact you may or may not be able to even secure a '23 allocation unless your dealer has quite a few.

Most people would be excited and jumping out of their seats at the prospect of taking delivery of a car they've been waiting months and months for, not asking if that which is almost in their hands should be pushed off. That's my $.02.

As far as changes, both the '22 and '23 MY have the PCM 6.0 with full screen CarPlay. I've heard some bemoan the updated PCM and others love it. I have a '21 and the PCM 5.0 can't be upgraded. I would have liked full screen CarPlay but as I understand it there are some other changes to the PCM that are frustrating.

Take your $5k in savings on the '23 and go get a Stage 1 M Engineering Tune after you break in the first 2000 miles.

I would expect the dealer will be more than happy if you back out right before delivery. They will get you to line up for a MY23 and sell your MY22 with ADM.

Do you want a 992 or not? If yes then take the one you’ve ordered, but if you’re more interested in keeping on waiting then sure kill this deal and order a ‘23. Or ‘24. Or ‘25.

Life happens now, not in 1-2-3 years time.

I don't think its worth it at all, there is new version imminent so you already lose as soon as you drive it off the dealer lot. BUT, I'd take, I don't mind last year tech. Ping me!
