Default 992.2 GTS order?

Hi

I just put the order demand on the local dealer and waiting. If I get an allocation, can I choose 2024 GTS or not?

What is the earliest month should I put a deposit for 2024 GTS? Early 2023?

You don’t get to choose anything. Whenever they call and say here’s an allocation, do you want it?

Whenever your locl date is, is what year your car will be based on the build cycle during the calendar year.

Since I have been rejected countless times for allocations for GT cars ( GT3, GT4 RS, regular GT4), it looks like I will put a deposit for a 911 Turbo S. I actually want the hybrid version since it is new technology, etc. Since the hybrid appears to be model year 2024, I will probably wait until December 2022/January 2023 timeframe to put down a deposit since I don’t want to be called for a model year 2023.

My main problem is 'Order demand' not 'Allocation' Maybe not easy to time the initial 2024 build. Put order demand later or put a deposit in Spring and summer in 2023 can be the best chance?

Porsche use customers as extended testing for new tech innovations so I’d expect the early hybrids to be riddled with issues. In my opinion you’d be well advised to avoid the hybrids for the first couple of years until they’ve ironed out the inevitable teething troubles. Otherwise, your new Hybrid Turbo S could well spend more time back at the dealers than on your driveway. Buyer beware.

simple
put a deposit now and tell your dealer that you want a 2024 my . These allocations will probably come in march 2023
remember dealer get allocations few months before actual build date
GTS allocations are not that common, so putting a deposit now will increase your chance of getting allocation
also GTS has several variables , 2, 4 convertible, targa , so your dealer might have to trade from another dealer for that particular model you are looking for

looking at the 991 timelines, the 992.2 GTS could be as late as 2025. Also, it will most likely be a hybrid. Fine if you want a hybrid but there’s also a lot to be said for having the last of the ICE cars, especially if you like the 3rd pedal.
The last of the ICE cars with manual box will be rare birds in the future as we have the obvious low production supply issues now to begin with and less than 10% of those are specified as manuals.
If you intend to keep it long term then that’s the one to have.

Agree with @pitt911 Walk into dealer NOW with your check book and ask to be put on waitlist for the car you want. Offer them a small deposit ($10k). They may or may not take it.

Hey guys I've been on a road trip the last few weeks, and have been out if the loop. Has there been news about the 992.2 being a hybrid for sure, or is it speculation? My 2023 Carrera 4 GTS is entering production a week from tomorrow and I jumped on the surprise allocation back in June because I'm concerned about the 911 going hybrid and I don't want any part of that. I absolutely loathe all the electric/hybrid crap being forced down our throats.
