No! I’ve done a lot of camping. A 911 would have to be one of the worst choices as a camping or a camping support vehicle.

They've got a whole "experience" thing for that:

Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks, I guess.

As much as I totally love the idea of this, I'm sure that the reality of camping in a 911 would be very different from the fantasy.

It's cool, but no idea where I'd put my camping supplies (big backpacks, camera equipment/tripod, footwear, food/water, etc...)

Again, cool, but there's no room in this car for everything else.

Typically, these hard shell RTT actually have room to store stuff in them while closed.

In may when I did a 5 day road trip, I had every intention of camping. All gear stored up front . Everything is so small these days it fit all the necessary items . Was really looking forward to it . But then Mother Nature decided for me with a wind storm for most of the trip . Which in the end didn’t affect the driving but camping was not to going to happen . I do plan to get out there in the next couple weeks to try again, all gear sits in front of my car including the flask of tequila. So I will update later . But I would never put a tent on top . With the speeds I was traveling might have gone airborne.

I finally clicked and read some of the stories. Indeed, different strokes for different people. I had to laugh that many on this forum are worried about the extra weight of the sunroof...some of these tents are huge! Like the Yakamima one on an older Porsche. That's something. Tequiment tent at $5000...that buys me a lot of nice hotel room nights.

The ground clearance of a 911 is mutually exclusive to the roads off of which I like to camp....unless having Safari 911 is also in the cards.....I have no interest in camping in paved parking lots.
