Hi everyone, I have my 992 gts with dp 200 and Akra. Also m engineering tune with bmc filters wanted to know if you recommend doing headers or its a waste of money.

i would really appreciate any insight.
I have no experience with headers on a Porsche. But I say do it! You've got everything else. Full send!

I would call John Gaydos at Soul Performance and ask his advice especially since Porsche changed the exhaust manifold design between the 991.2 and the 992. John is an expert. He has always been brutally honest and frank with me on exhaust questions which I greatly appreciate. Fantastic customer service at Soul.
I would probably save your money unless you can find any dyno's showing that they offer a real performance improvement. My guess is most of the gains to be had are with HFC's and there's not a lot of performance to be unlocked from headers, but that's just my gut. I'm sure someone with experience can chime in if I have that wrong

I think you are correct as John Gaydos, Soul Performance, told me the same ASSUMING you have factory 992S turbos. If you upgrade to larger aftermarket turbos, however, then headers could be beneficial on the 992. I mention that as OP states his car has dp200 and Akra so uncertain whether he has upgraded or factory turbos.

I am running stock turbos but have seen in some forums you loose low end torque
The 991.2 gen Carreras had much more restrictive headers than these new cast manifolds of the 992 Carrera/Turbo. On vehicles already equipped with an exhaust downstream we've seen some nice compliments on character/tone...throatier, smoother, deeper, bit more pops/burbles in Sport Mode, enhanced turbo spool, etc. That said from a performance enhancement we've seen Much better ROI from software, modular cat replacements and muffler replacements, and especially doing a full system after the turbos bumping up overall tubing diameter. That said, we're not going to leave it well enough alone, and are continuing further R&D on headers with some key players in the big power game, to see if we can come up with something that will net some tangible performance improvements pre-turbo
I had vector performance headers on my Carrera T and full Akrapovic cats and pipe. Until I adjusted the tune to work with the headers it only helped a little In the top part of the power band. Changing from a standard log manifold to tubes increases air flow Deffo. Look into it as I am sure a lot companies can give you advise In that area.

Apples and oranges. If you had a “T” then it was a 991.2, not a 992. Porsche redesigned the exhaust manifolds for the 992 because of the problems with that part on the 991.2 which was fixed by after market headers.See John Gaydos, Soul Performance, post above. Bottom line is notwithstanding the poor exhaust manifold design on the 991,2:, the 992 redesign fixed it. On the 992 you get more bang for your buck with Sport Cats, exhaust and tune than spending $ on headers because of the redesign
