I have the same noise on my C2S I took delivery of in August. Test drove a C4S that produced the same exact noise, and was told by the sales rep, another customer complained about the same noise, and another demo car does the same too. Seems to be an engine mount thing that's discussed (with no conclusive fix) on another thread here.

hi , damn!! Engine mount issue. I am in that thread too…some changed the engine mount and the noise disappeared.

However , shouldnt the engine mount’s noise be a bit dull in tone?

by the way, is your noise present from gear 2->3 , 3->4 and less noisy from 4->5 onwards?

p.s. have u tried changing the Engine mount?

No I haven't changed the engine mounts yet. Will only get it done when there's a conclusive fix. Some member here with the issue had their noise come back, or just reduced after changing engine mounts.

Yes, the sound is present in all those gear shifts you mentioned, in higher gears it is also present but road noise masks it somewhat. It only happens at a specific (low) RPM range. I drive in manual most of the time and keep the RPMs at/above 2K, and no weird sounds.

so if you ride it above 2k rpms then the noise won’t be heard??

I already started shifting at around 3-4K RPM from new. Exceeded 4K RPM occasionally. Once past 1000KM I gave it a brief redline or two only after everything's up to temperature. I didn't really follow the run-in instructions like gospel.

Because there is no point to tear engine apart just to change PADM. One guy in another thread changed it and the noise disappeared for 800miles then it came back.

what year is your car?

Listened / Watched the video 20 times... I hear Nothing PRE Gear shift, yet I do hear "knocking" POST gear shift, when the engine RPM is around 1500rpm.

I agree it is the same noise that BigBanana has My guess are engine mounts.

Please keep us in the loop as you find out what the cause is.

Hi there

a few weeks ago I had my turbo cabriolet ( MJ 2024 first licensed Aug23 ) with 400 miles in the shop ( 7 weeks ) for replacing the motor mounts and lots of other stuff ( Modell F mount meanwhile ) Issue still exists, dealer took back the car and paid money back.
