I'm amongst those that feels these types of demonizing of words and phrases are just for show, while ignoring making any real progress. That said, in general, I too will follow social norms and stop using those "offensive" terms over time.

There are plenty of examples of the pendulum swinging too far. That's how change occurs. But maybe in this case, the OP can tell us what the intended meaning of the word was in his post. How is it different from the word inexpensive, for example?

First, I really didn't mean anything degrading with the title. There was no intent to be offensive. People tend to forget that and take on a pseudo-moralistic stance.
If anything, I was being facetious because I thought my fix was quite funny given the price of the car and using such a mundane thing like a piece of tape.
I apologize if you were offended but this is part of my regular speech with no other intent but to be self-deprecating.
P.S. I am a visible minority, not that it matters.
