Oh wow really? Was about to say - I have the Targa roof button on my Porsche key fob (UK based).

This said - what I find quite annoying is that to open or close the Targa roof with my Porsche key fob you need to keep the button pressed until the process has completed.

I had the Mods4Cars module installed on my previous SLC43 - and the roof opened and closed by only clicking the button once, which was great.

On a slightly separate note - a 992 Convertible roof mechanism would never hit the car/objects behind you whilst I think the Targa roof might do - am I wrong here? When I open the Targa roof I am always extra careful about the distance with car behind me.

Kerping the button pressed is an essential feature. The last thing you want is accidental opening.

Yes indeed - I full appreciate and was aware of that - just saying it's annoying.
I find it quite awkward though when closing the roof once out of the car, as people look at you and don't understand why you are standing there for 20 odd seconds

The Targas have a sensor in the back that will stop the mechanism if there is an obstacle behind it/that it would hit. It stops it in mid motion when it detects something within about 6-12 inches from its position. I found this out, when a buddy walked behind the car when I was putting down my targa - stopped the process. Good to know!

My Targa roof takes 2 clicks and then release. No need to hold the button down until the process is complete.

Yep, standard here in the UK…and right up there with the Chrono clock as the most pointless piece of kit on the car

Just installed this on my Targa tonight. Thanks to @Shogunade for the lightly used module. Totally glad I bought it. The hardest part is removing the wiring harness from the car. I used a curved pair of needle nose pliers to pull out the red tab (on the underside of the harness) and then used my finger to push in the release tab from below while I pulled the harness out. If you mess with the harness attached to the module before you start trying on the car it makes it much easier to understand. Took me about 30 mins in total but if I was going to do it again it would take less than 10.

X

With the smarttop you'll get full operation with the key and the one touch inside the car.
