Default Anyone install a Mods4Cars SmartTOP module on a Targa?

Wondering if they work well. I've got a '22 Targa 4S GTS and wanted to be able to open/close the top remotely and this looked like a good option. Wondering if the community had any good or bad things to say about this product. Thanks.

I had it on my 991 targa, worked great. I have not done it on my 2022 Targa 4s. I honestly found that I really didn't put it up or down much remotely - more as a novelty showing people while outside the car, more so than I did in practical sense - meaning oh I forgot to put the top up when going into a store or whatever.. When I park it for extended periods of time (going into a restaurant or shop, or something) I just put it up before I get out and vise versa.

I did the install myself on my previous one, not bad to do if you are handy (or even a little bit handy). But I haven't done it on my recent (had my targa since December) - just due to not thinking I need it. I am going to give it a few more months this summer to see if I really want to have it on this one. So far - don't think I will.

Super timely post for me as well ToyotaGuy, and even more appropriate response Richard_Wallace. Thank you both so much.

I’ve had 5 SmartTOPs, one on a 2017 Targa 4S. I think it’s worth getting if you consider the cost of the mod to the cost of the car. I used it quite a bit, even though it only works up to about 4mph. Agree it’s more of a no brainer on a cab (up to 30ish), but still a rounding error compared to cost of admission in either car.
YMMV.

1- stunning car. Looks better specced like that than I would have imagined
2- first mod should be the clear side markers. I find on yellow cars they make a big difference. Especially with your wheels being black
3- I have no experience with the module. Really just posting to say that your car looks great (and house)

The one touch up and down is huge for me - I hated sitting there holding the switch up or down waiting for the top. I assume that works with the Targas.

Have the Mods4Cars SmartTOP module on my 2022 Targa GTS. A tricky but fun install. Agree its not essential but sometimes ya just gotta show-off how cool the top mechanism works. Support is good.
I occasionally reprogram it to test other open/close options.

Do tell! What are the options? What else can you program it to do?

I have it and love it. One touch is key. I also like to have the top drop before getting into the car when it has been sitting in the hot weather. It also allows you to put the top up or down while moving up to 10 mph.

I may be mistiming my taps or something but it's random whether I succeed at it, and what it decides I intended. I'd check that I didn't mess up settings, but getting to the module is a bitch. I should have ran a USB extension into the car somewhere.

I’m confused by this now. I’ve seen several reviews on YouTube, including AutoTopNL where the reviewer stands and demonstrates the roof mechanism by just pressing the bottom button on the factory Porsche key.
Maybe this is only a feature on European and UK delivered cars. I don’t know.

Yes. It's not available on US cars.

The programming indicates Microsoft and Windows, anyone know if it is Apple friendly a well.
