GTS Lightweight Package VS PCCB/GlassRoof
For a GTS Coupe:
1. LightWeight Package w/18 Way Seats (Steel Brakes and Race-tex roof lining)
VS
2. PCCB w/Glass Roof
1. LightWeight Package w/18 Way Seats (Steel Brakes and Race-tex roof lining)
VS
2. PCCB w/Glass Roof
- Both Specs total 170K USD
- That's the budget, can't afford to add both
- My situation: weekend car 5k a year miles, no kids, 2-3 days per year for track time (maybe)

Unpopular opinion: Lightweight package on a car like the 911 GTS is ... oxymoronic.

1) LWP with 18ways seems counterintuitive...I would go buckets, especially if you think you might track it, don't have kids, and don't intend on it being a daily driver.
2) Also counterintuitive...spending money for the lightweight brakes, but then adding weight up top.
Sounds like your budget is preventing you from doing the LWP with the PCCBs, so the better combo might be the 18ways with the glass roof.

Sport Seats Plus 4way (are amazing) and blow the LWP away in terms of weight savings (vs 18 way), all by themselves. Factor that in with the amazing PCCB's (no brake dust and also weight way less) and this is a no brainer.

This. 4 way sport plus are just as comfortable as the 18 ways and significantly lighter. Together with PCCB and you are golden. I imagine a rear seat delete kit will come about to remove more weight.

The 18 ways are 41 lbs total more than the 4 ways. In a car that weighs 3500 lbs, that's just not going to make a discernible diff for most drivers. If you are concerned about weight, though, the manual is roughly 80 lbs lighter than the PDK. For comparison, PCCB is only 40 lbs lighter total (but it's unsprung).

Most ppl seem to be unaware of the fact that lightweight package is not only about lightweight but about aero too. Porsche should've named it performance plus s package instead.
Would you drive on the track or just street driving? If no track, get pccb and glass roof!
with additional aerodynamic finishing touches. New air-guide elements in the front section of the underbody reduce lift at the front. The control of the adaptive rear spoiler has been re-programmed. It is now approximately four degrees steeper in its performance setting, which gives the benefit of more downforce.

Can't see the logic. PCCB are great, but most opt for steel track rotors because PCCB don't really last much longer in that application and are VERY expensive to service.
I think the choice is lightweight, steel brakes (superb), all the track based options (CF roof?), or Gran Turismo with sun roof, leather interior, maybe PCCB for dust and lifetime brakes for an exceptional road car.

I was in the same boat. Couldn't swing the PCCB + LWP so I chose LWP with buckets. NO REGRETS. I agree with the other suggestions. If you have no kids and this is a weekend car, go with the buckets. They add to the more raw feel you get with the GTS. I am coming from a C2S w/Spasm + 4 ways.

I went with PCCBs and Carbon Roof as well as 4-way seats. Wish buckets had been an option at the time I spec'd my car. I think I saved around 100 lbs (also got lightweight glass) as compared to a car with steel brakes, 18-way seats, and regular roof/glass. 100 lbs is totally noticeable on a track, even for a relative novice (maybe not your first day, but after a couple of track days you'll notice it).
That said, it would be interesting to know how much reduction in lift there is with the LWP/improve aeros. There might be a measurable way to determine which option would better suit.

The carbon roof saves ~4 lbs. It's more for appearance than meaningful weight savings.

PCCB w/Glass Roof not having brake dust is a big plus I have the lightweight PKG PCCB and the Carbon fibre roof on my 992 GTS and out of all the options the benefit that is most notable is not having the dam brake dust.

Make sure you get the front end lift kit I regret not getting this option I have scraped the front spoiler probably 6 times already and I've only got 3000 km so far
