Default allocation question

After a year, I finally received a “special dealer allocation”. Does anybody know what this exactly means?

Maybe it is some sort of an unexpected extra bonus allocation to the dealer. Congrats regardless! Allocation is an allocation.

It's a bonus allocation to a dealer usu. as reward for hitting some sort of sales goal (i.e., X number of Panameras or Taycans).

It is an unexpected allocation that is given to the dealership outside of the normal time that they receive their allocations.

When I was waiting for an allocation for my car last year I was contacted by my SA that they got a special allocation that I could have. Unfortunately I passed on it because it would not have been usable for a PTS build, would have needed to have been locked in a few days, and would have been a very late '21 instead of a '22. I took a '22 allocation when they got their next batch about a month later.

Thanks all, Is it correct that this type of allocation can not be tracked on the Porsche “system”?

I had a Special Allocation that was given to the Porsche Dealer because they were building a new dealership. But unfortunately it also came with conditions, such as no changes once the build went in and no visibility to the stages of the car.

I was offered a special European Delivery allocation back in January and I took it. For me, it was in fact trackable on TYD.

Special allocations are like regular allocations. They can be tracked on TYD
only problem with them is they are last minute so you have to make decisions quickly
on few occasions cars have been already locked or built , but then they don't call it an allocation , they call it a car

OP, I would think that if the car was configured and ordered under your Porsche ID, you should be able to track it. Did the dealer tell you otherwise?

Yes. But, dealer indicated a VIN had been created! Also got a commission number, whatever that is.

So, I guess it is already scheduled for production. Did you get a chance to configure it beforehand?

Commission number comes before VIN. VIN means car is in or about to go into production and has been “created”. The commission number means Porsche has agreed to build the model of car you requested in your order demand.
At least that’s how I understand it.

I was told I couldn’t track the car. At my initial conversation they said I could, but after my order they said I couldn’t and all updates would come from my SA.
