Default GT3 PDK shift **** retrofit to replace razorblade

Would it be possible to replace the standard PDK braun shaver with this?

I believe it was looked into before and it is not. I suspect if it was the waiting list on the parts required would be long and there would be a lot of people running it. Porsche if you are listening: The braun shaver is stupid.

I don't mind the razor style lever. I even find him discreet and pleasant.

Back in the day, they'd call you a ricer.

Us aerokit owners are labeled as fake, wannabe GT3s.

What would this make you?

Nahhhh. I see this as an upgrade, not a wannabe move.
Also, what if i promise not to use the GT3 logo?

Nope. Different transmissions. 8 speed PDK is fully electronic whereas the 7 speed PDK lever is a completely different setup. There are kludgy solutions that slip over the nubbin, but your six figure 992 deserves better.

I don’t understand the obsessive negativity over the standard selector. You touch it once when you start off and never touch it again. It feels solid and deliberate. Plus, one less thing to impale you in a crash.

Thanks for the accurate technical answer, makes sense.
On the other hand, no obsessive negativity; the selector just looks like shi*t, out of place

The selector is functional. A basis of Porsche design. Recall some much more expensive cars have just push buttons.

+1… making it look like a mechanical shift **** is awkward in my mind. I did not even mind to have none like in my AMG and just use the steering wheel stalk. Frees up the center console

Quite true! Many early 1960’s era Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth cars used Push Button Shifting. I think the Edsel did as well. Memorable vehicles all!

Nice try. Expensive not (reread my post). Think Ferrari.

Right no reason to make it look like something it’s not.
