Air deflector on 992 Targa
Hello,
I’m struggling to raise the air deflector on my 992 Targa 4 GTS. Not sure if it needs pushing or pulling. Either way nothing seems to happen.
Any advice please?

Push it repeatedly a few times (you will see an arrow). Once you do it a couple of times (once it goes up), it will be easier. You have to push it a few times to get it released the first couple of times.
Cool thing is, once it is up, you can leave it in the up position even when closing the targa roof, it will go down with the roof, and come back up when you lower the roof.

Believe it or not a simple push will not raise it. It takes a sharp hard smack above the arrow and it will open. Nothing in the OM about that. I complained to my dealer who couldn't "fix it" but were surprised when I told them how to raise it.
And in my not-so-humble opinion it does nothing to eliminate the air buffing issue.

Thanks guys.
I figured it out this weekend - weirdly the arrow is on the passenger's side (UK car here). It really needs a few hard pushed before it pops up - I was very surprised as well the OM is completely silent on the mechanism.
I think it fixes the air buffing issue up to 70mph - a little improvement. Any yes - once it is up it will go down when closing the targa the roof, and pop up when lowering the roof.

Not sure if I have hearing problems (hopefully not!) but I will say I have no issue with buffeting at all at any speed. I just make sure my wind deflector is up and the two windows are down a tiny bit to where the window meets the front corner (heard a reviewer say something about the windows being down a bit before I got the car and it stuck for some reason). I do this every time I put the roof down and it seems to do the trick. Figured I’d share just in case others haven’t tried.

My SA doesn’t even know it would unlatch further until I showed her the video from youtube. She said it’s best to bring it back for service to check it out.
Thanks for everyone’s input!
If it was fully released, it should look like that.
I forgot what video I dropped it from, but it’s a 992 Targa4S.
I still have trouble trying to extend mine, and I might need to book an appointment with service to check it out.
