Completely agree, that video gives me a half chub, it sounds incredible. But that setup is also nearly $12,000, which is why I was asking if anyone might know how much of a difference the Inconel would make over stainless steel. Love the car and the sound, but I definitely can't justify that price tag.

This is very much a problem, yeah. Not to mention a quick iPhone video is far from a professionally captured video with high end microphones and some editing. If I had my way, exhaust manufacturers would be required make a video as high quality as Kline's, and they would include a before section and after section recorded with the same equipment and edited similarly. But then they might all be as expensive as the Kline with its fancy F1-grade metals :/

Thanks! Here's a link for the lazy: http://www.instagram.com/tv/CgYK5T4l...d=NDBlY2NjN2I=

Sounds nice, but it's hard to tell much from stationary revving with the limiter. From your experience, how does the tone compare to what you hear in the Kline video? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TgwM1Sfse8M

On my sound clip there is no limiter, revs to 7k as tune eliminated the 3.5k limit.

hard to tell from the video. I’ll say it sounds similar to the cockpit clips, it’s a smooth higher pitched sound, exotic like.

Just curious, did it really total up to $12k for that exhaust system as mentioned earlier?

I got mine second hand and paid a fraction of that. New should cost ~6500 for stainless w the cats.

This is in line with the quote I got today for the stainless version from top end motorsports after emailing for their best pricing. They have the cats, exhaust, and CF tips available separately and as far as I can tell you can pick and choose which you'd like as it's all compatible with OEM as well (but not 100% sure on that). The full system made with Inconel was around $3k more. Obviously much cheaper than the pricing from flat6 that I found and posted above, but the flat6 link does include the CF tips (listed at $1230 from top end; i didn't ask about pricing)

Leaning that way, as well. Plus there is ample demand on second hand ones so if I do not like should not be too hard to move.

For those that are more than happy with a minor bump in sound over the factory system - go with Akrapovic. It's also the highest quality of anything out and looks like a piece of art. It almost makes you cry that you can't see it once it's installed.

If you want more of a major sound increase and arguably the best sounding then you go with IPE. But IPE is closer in overall volume to Sharkwerks than it is to Akrapovic so it may not be the best for you OP.

If anyone has more questions on either of these exhausts, or any others mentioned in this thread, give us a shout.

I am about to install the IPE (exhaust only) and now wonder if the IPE drones like the Sharkwerks tends to? I sure hope not as its not a straight pipe but has small muffler.

If the muffler is the only thing that you're upgrading with the IPE exhaust then you should be fine.

I've got the stock, non-sport, exhaust on my S, and I just enjoy the "woosh" when I step on it, and the quiet out on the highway.

Our 992 Valved Exhaust will give you car a nice character change. Since you still have the OEM valves in place, you will notice the biggest the difference on start-up and over 4000 rpms when the valves open. This is a great exhaust for those that want an enhancement to the OEM tone. You can add high-flow cats and a tune that can enable you to open the valves all the time or have them function in normal PSE mode. DM me for details. The power gains are pretty phenominal, but I would say to try the Valved Exhaust first and see how you like it.

Keep in mind that all exhausts will mellow out in about 1000 miles. This is from the heat cycling of the material (T304L Stainless in our case) and a fine layer of carbon build up on the inside of the exhaust.

If anyone is interested in SOUL, please don't hesitate to shoot me a DM.
