If it was all about performance numbers, we’d all be driving electric cars. Experience and quality of experience matter.

The C8 isn’t the kind of car that anyone will care about when the next Vette comes out. They’re disposable. People want 997s. C6s? Not so much.

People will care if the C9 is all electric.

Given how C8 values have already fallen, I wouldn’t bet on it. 😉

That article is shaky. The C8 hasn't been out for 5 years, but since its production has been hampered for multiple reasons, the C7's resale value has been artificially propped up. Likewise with some of the other cars like the 718s. Only after supply of new cars goes back to normal and/or the recession hits will it be possible to rank used-car resale values using valid data.

Lol - aero fairy puke. They look like tranformers to me. A child's toy - big *** hot wheels. Saw them all over Miami last weekend; like multiple parked in front of the hot hotels. Felt like a marketing push by Chevy or something.

Totally agree. I think hybrid is prob the best compromise future sports car powertrain. The only issue (for some) is that there's no chance we'll ever get a manual hybrid.

Honda has successfully paired a manual transmission with a hybrid drivetrain. If Honda can do it, Porsche certainly can.

Interesting. Didn't know that. Googled around a bit and there are a handful. I just don't see Porsche doing a manual on a hybrid drivetrain. Feels forced, as opposed to being a natural decision. I think I'd be willing to move back to the (sublime) PDK with the hybrid drivetrain. All I want is for them to use the gear selector from the new GT3, or something similar. I just can't with the shaver.

They are not "based on nothing"...these numbers come from the company who has the most experience predicting car values. There is almost no circumstance under which 3-5 year old used cars continue to sell for near MSRP for the next 5 years.

The main reason a 911 is my go to sports car is because it’s got a back seat and all wheel drive. Off the top of my head, the Audi TTRS and Nisan GTR are the only other sports cars that fit that bill.
The Z06, if the wait lists hold up, is sold out for the entire 7+ year model run. Remember that the Corvette is sold differently - a small number of mega-dealers sell a huge percentage of the manufactured cars, the rest of the Chevy dealers in the country get very small quantities. The upside to that is - the mega-dealers almost all sell for MSRP, no ADM. They all have multi-thousand long wait lists.
