^ Having heard many aftermarket cold starts, I feel that I am at liberty to answer your question:

Its loud.

Very very loud.

Anyone else have some type of weird noise at low rpm windows down? I can’t figure out what the noise is but with a bit of throttle it goes away.

Ah, yes, the famous crickets.

A well documented and discussed phenomenon around here

just found another thread about it. Does an aftermarket exhaust also have this sound?

^ The sound is still there but drowned out by a louder exhaust.

The sound never bothered me as much as it did some other people around here

The Cold Start is very LOUD. Like 6am terror loud. After that it’s great - the sound is much better than stock.

went for a drive windows down low speeds. It’s perceptible. It annoys me a little bit considering how well put together this car is otherwise. Did anyone find out what actually causes the noise? High flow cats maybe help if it stems from the restriction in the cats.

I must say, I was hoping the cold start on the GTS would be louder, maybe akra replacement in the future ?

if it’s a little squeaky chirpy noise coming from behind somewhere, on my car it was the right and left rear seat belt buckles. I inserted the seat belts into the rear seat buckles and have not heard another peep from the back in over 5000 miles. Before that, it was annoying AF and would always start to chirp at freeway speeds. Remove the rear seat belts and noise comes right back.

When I reached 5K miles I’m now starting to get a squeaking noise from the left side of the drivers seat.

not what I’m hearing. Mine is definitely exhaust/engine noise. Feels like a restriction/minor rattle and muffled resonance. Very difficult to describe. Going to dealer Monday I’ll ask my sales guy what he thinks

Does it sound a bit like crickets at low speed?

If so, it’s just how the car sounds. It’s nothing of consequence, and I would gather that your dealer won’t have, or even propose, any fix for it.

yes I would agree that’s how it sounds. Not loud though. Just wondering if changing the exhaust fully with high flow cats solves the issue. Or is it Inherent to the engine design.
