18 way seat backs

18 way seat backs
Hi all, I understand how fortunate we all are to be able to have discussions about such topics. My lock date for a 2022 992 cab C2S is in two weeks, and I have one final decision. The car will be GT silver with red top and black/ bordeaux leather interior, Carrera classic wheels, 930 leather package, leather interior trim inlays, 18 way seats. My question is if the silver plastic backs of the seats will look out of sorts with this color combo. I don't mind if it would appear "sporty" as opposed to luxurious. I would rather not spend the extra $ if it would not be too unsightly, and, if I chose the leather backed seats, would likely eliminate the leather insets. Thank you for any input!

The silver seat backs are a non issue in a coupe or Targa, but they will be considerably more conspicuous in a Cabrio. With a silver car, likely less of an issue.

I opted for Palado wood in my 992 Targa, both Palado wood trim and seat backs. You can see the seats pretty easily with a Targa and of course fully with a Cab. I do think it adds to the overall look. I would opt for either leather or another finish to help with the completeness. While somewhat costly, it does add to the look specifically with open tops variants of the 911's.

this is the second thread on this topic this week. With that particular spec I think its money well spent. Those seat backs dramatically cheapen the look of the interior (my opinion only, not everybody shares) and on a cab with a high spec interior like yours I think it would be something you regretted over time.

On a Cabriolet definitely do something with the seat backs. On a coupe, you can't really see them and thus money wasted IMHO. But on a Cabriolet? With the top down? Well worth the extra coin.

The seatbacks on my Bordeaux red interior are red. (No leather) Is this not the case for the Bordeaux/black interior?

So I can't unsee my seat back after this conversation!! Never even noticed it before 😂😂
It's a cab and is there any aftermarket ideas to change to chalk, to match the Exclusive Manufatur Leather interior (aka Porsche will take ur first born)?
Regards

Shikar, reach out to Frank at Exclusive Options. They’re an upholstery shop that specializes in Porsche and other high end vehicles. I’ve had them do quite a bit of custom work for me and all of it has been as good or better than factory quality. I ordered my car with the seat backs in leather (didn’t know EO existed until after I ordered) but if I hadn’t I would have had them do mine. Frank’s the owner and really great to work with. They’re also a RL sponsor.
