I took out the more expensive paint, removed the glass sun roof and went to 4 ways. I don't think I have ever used the full function of the 14 way on the Cayenne (when I get to drive it).

So 11 grand more (CND) with only about a 2% discount give me the S in manual vs base pdk. Im leaning towards the base now, but again would love any further input. Is the sport Chrono necessary in the base? I was told you get it or do not need it in the S.
That's almost a no-brainer.

Get the S, unless you simply want or need the PDK.

You'll recoup a majority of the price differential (11k CND) on resale -- whether it's a year from now or 10 years from now.

Hey Folks - I ordered the base Carerra, due to be built next week and at my dealer in mid-July. I couldn't justify the S - paying $16K for 64 horsepower ($250/hp) and access to racing-focused options I don't need. The base Carerra has been dyno'ed and shown to actually produce over 400 hp. I preferred to use the $16K for various interior/exterior options. Just my thought process. Of course the S is a Sweet spec, but not for everyone. If more power is desired, I can get a tune for a couple grand.

Hi Dudewith992, I agree, no matter how i cut it, adding all the features I want, with the exception of the 14 way now, both pdk im always 16 (CND) apart. This is my first and hopefully not my last, so I think I might put down my deposit for it and take it from there. I am sure I will be happy.

I just wanted to thank everyone again for all their input. Its been really helpful in narrowing it down. Hopefully my last porsche code and final build. .....

I had a 2020 992 base Carrera and recently picked up a 2022 Carrera S (for the manual). I loved the base Carrera and never felt it lacked power. I do notice the power increase in the S but if the base was offered in manual I would have spec'd my 2022 as base.

Great build! Has all the must haves. Maybe match exhaust tips to silver Logo/Model. My car doesn't haven't Power Steering Plus, the steering does feel a little heavy on slow maneuvering, I'd be curious to feel the difference though. Headrest crest are a nice touch if you're into it.

A cheap one that might come in handy: Preparation for Roof Transport System

The base is a fantastic car! I love mine.

I'd never put $30K in options on a base before putting that money in to an S.

I think the OP's builds is in Canadian dollars. Note the base price is 115k, not 101k as it would be for US market.

I think there quite a few people who would disagree. Getting a base S model with none of the options you really want is just as unappealing. If you really want some power get a M-Engineering tune or similar for the base at a fraction of the S up-charge. S certainly performs better but not everybody cares as much about that difference vs having a car you like optioned to your test and preferences.

I would buy the car I wanted, would be the same options on a Base or S. Only difference would be if I wanted the increased performance.

I have a similarly spec'd 2022 Base C4 (my first 911) and love the car. SC is worth it and think 14 ways are very comfortable (I have yet to use ACC as I like driving the car). The base was the only slot the dealer had and was worried that I would miss the extra HP of the S. I didn't think about resale and was grateful to get a slot at MSRP in 6/21. I don't plan to track the car and for me it has plenty of power for driving around town and country roads. My advice is get what you want and enjoy it!

For what it’s worth, Porsche Torque Vectoring is not available on the base Carrera. It’s an option on the C4, and standard on all “S” cars. Some of the reviewers say the wouldn’t consider a 992 without PTV; others love the base car just as it is. YMMV. Enjoy the journey.

After a lot of back and forth with a few members of the forum and friends I was convinced to perhaps consider PCCBs. Once I did that the jump to the GTS wasn't that bad. I do loose the 14 way seats and the sliding sunroof as I was still trying to work with a number, but would love to hear everyones thoughts now on my potential build. I don't even know if I can get a GTS. Final price in USD is now 137000.00

For my tastes, Id want the 18 way seats and in many places the front axle lift. Those options are also better for resale later.
Id skip the PCCB option. IMO, that is too expensive an option for a base Carrera.
If brake dust bothers, replace the pads with low dust Hawk Ceramic Brake Pads. That's what I've done with these last two.
Waaay cheaper than PCCB, and almost as effective at reducing dust. Cost me $300 plus install on my 911 Turbo.
