Default Gas Gauge Sluggish - Understated !!!

I have a 2022 base 911 with the extended range gas tank.

On numerous and almost all occasions after filling the gas tank the gauge doesn’t move to show fuel has been added.

Then after a day, two or three it will move to what appears to be the correct level.

Anyone else experiencing this - reminds me of the old British Lucas gauges

That’s weird. I too have the extended gas tank and have owned my 2021 Base 992 for 14 months now. I have never had this issue. Might want to get it checked out by the dealer.

I have the standard fuel tank and have a similar issue, but not as bad as yours. After I fill up, it take 20-30 minutes before the fuel gauge reaches full. I can watch the mileage range indicator slowly climb, usually to about a range of 340 miles

Not sure if this makes a difference but I have literally only filled up my gas tank when the light is on and the tank is pretty much empty. And when it's time to get gas I always fill up the tank completely. As soon as I get back in my car the fuel gauge always shows full with no delay.

Try filling it up with around a quarter of a tank and see what happens.

I never wait till the tank is almost empty to fill as I have been told, albeit years ago, that running a tank near empty can damage the fuel gage or sender, not sure which, as the fuel keeps it protected.

Oh very interesting...I may have to try that out. It is a pain when certain gas stations max out your fill with 20 gallons or a certain dollar limit so maybe filling at quarter tank isn't that bad of an idea regardless.

2020 C2S (standard tank) - and experience the same sluggishness of the gauge not showing full if I let the gas pump automatically stop when full. After a year so - I learned to ignore it.

Probably a marginalized fuel gas vapor canister. Do you top off when you get gas? Never top off, in fact short filling is the least abusive on the system.

May be related but if I top the tank up from more than 1/2 full it does take time to register the new level, and it never resets the in-built from refueling trip meter. That only resets when I fill up from a low level; normally I fill up when the warning comes on at 50 miles range left.

Least this is how my particiular MY20 works.

Thanks for the responses.

I think I will let the gas level get way down before I refill the tank and see what happens with the gauge response.
