I would not presume that the 922.2 will be all upside.
If you want a 992, I don’t see a lot of compelling reason to wait for the 992.2. Given that 992 depreciation remains virtually non-existent, you could buy one now and trade it in for a 992.2 if the car turns out to be a meaningful update.
- Spy photos have already shown an interior lifted from the Taycan with the analog tachometer being eliminated.
- The intakes up front are going to a larger number of vertical slots — a step backwards on the appearance front.
- Particulate filters/GPF will undoubtedly make their appearance for the global market as Porsche has been saying for a while.
- The modest regularly scheduled facelift power bump will be offset by GPFs and added weight.
- Expect performance hybrid Turbo cars and a mild hybrid drive system for the Carrera/S/GTS. Added weight all around.
- Substantial price increase for mid-cycle refresh cars to reflect supply chain challenges and updates.

Is it just me or does this 992.2 Turbo US Spec (check the amber side markers) prototype sounds GPF-less? Exhaust sounds much more full compared to videos of the Euro spec cars with GPF.... or it could just be Porsche tuned the 992.2 to sound better even with the GPF. How they improved the sound of the 992 over the 991.2..

992.2 was just released in Spain to dealerships GMs but the info is under embargo at the moment...
We should see some real info dropping on the car soon now that it has been finalized...
