Maybe this is the reason they have not updated the 911 configurator 🤷‍♂️

As a point of reference, I just ordered a MY2023 GTS and it is still the 992.1 version, so the earliest the 992.2 could come out would be 2024. Even at that, I don’t think the 992.2 will be much of an upgrade, especially if they decide to hybrid everything. The only differences visually versus the camouflaged 992.2 are different exhaust setup, different rear engine intake and (maybe) slightly different infotainment/ steering wheel/ gauge cluster. I am a big believer in buying the .1 version because it’s going to be the “newest” generation for the longest period of time. If you buy a .2, in a few years Porsche will come out with a completely different generation and your r will feel completely dated. The only cars that are worth buying for the .2 generation would be a gt3/2 rs

I’m thinking positively here and like everyone else, this is my stab at it. MY 23… for the Cabriolet.

Allocations and prices aren’t out yet nor is the configurator.

18133645[/url]]I would not presume that the 922.2 will be all upside.
  • Spy photos have already shown an interior lifted from the Taycan with the analog tachometer being eliminated.
  • The intakes up front are going to a larger number of vertical slots — a step backwards on the appearance front.
  • Particulate filters/GPF will undoubtedly make their appearance for the global market as Porsche has been saying for a while.
  • The modest regularly scheduled facelift power bump will be offset by GPFs and added weight.
  • Expect performance hybrid Turbo cars and a mild hybrid drive system for the Carrera/S/GTS. Added weight all around.
  • Substantial price increase for mid-cycle refresh cars to reflect supply chain challenges and updates.

If you want a 992, I don’t see a lot of compelling reason to wait for the 992.2. Given that 992 depreciation remains virtually non-existent, you could buy one now and trade it in for a 992.2 if the car turns out to be a meaningful update.

Agree. Detansinn's summary of 992.2 negatives is definitive.
For the facelift to be obviously more desirable than the 992.1, it would need unequal length A arm front suspension from the GT3. Which won't happen.

There are no GPFs on 992s or at least on my 2021. GPF/OPF/PPF are all the same thing with them being derived from DPFs.

If you search the forum, months ago I and others have posted pics of GPF and non GPF exhausts. Have things changed in the 2022?

BTW OPF's have been around for years and examples are discussed below

They are, read the articles, they just aren't any in my 2021 992

Forgot to add, OPF/GPF was one of the (supposed) reasons for the Mobil1 0w-40 x3 ESP oil requirement

But all 992 GT3s (US included) have them.
