I’m new to seeing Porsche test their next model; but since mine will likely be a ‘23… I can’t help but to hope the tack-on afterthought bug-eye lights on the front bumper of the test mules isn’t actually real!!?

Does Porsche ever fabricate test mule parts to hide the real design?

Those bumper lights have existed on prior Porsche Turbos. They are not foreign. Whether or not they make it onto the 992.2 is up for debate, but they are very much part of Porsche design.

They could end up on the final design, though they will almost certainly look more integrated/cohesive in that case.

They are stand-ins for the new turn signals. Some of the spy shots show them amber or dark when the car is turning.

They’re clearly going for a new turn signal design and we just don’t know what that looks like yet. I would not be surprised if they move into the headlight unit like the Taycan.

They will convert them to machine guns and missle launchers for production vehicles with anti road rage option.
