Default Equipment install at port causing delays?

My car is on the SFL Composer and scheduled to be at the dealer on June 3rd. I am trying to coordinate with the dealer to pick up the car since out of state. He is telling me it may be delayed because cars possibly need the Bose amplifiers installed at the port and that can take a day to a week. Has anyone experienced this? Seems like the amplifier would be something installed at the factory.

It would normally be installed at factory, but because of parts supply issues in the current environment they are sometimes shipping cars with parts missing to keep the factory pipeline and shipping logistics moving

Just be happy your 911 is on dry land in the US of A, and not the beginnings of a new coral reef in the middle of the Atlantic.

Macans are being held for similar reasons. Supposedly in supply and not much of a delay

The unfortunate reality is timing at the port is a crap shoot. Lots of variables that we know, some we don’t and no real ability to predict. Even your SA. My car took 5 days from offload to dealer. Another 911 on the same boat was 3 days to a further dealer. A third was 9 days. So you either need to build in extra time in your plans and possibly add unnecessary delay in your pick up or find a way to make more flexible plans (likely more expensive). It’s not the answer you want I am sure and definitely not the answer my “I want it now” personality would want, but anyone telling you different is likely giving you bad information.

Shame they don't let you get on the boat and grab your own car, drive it home.
