How is the fit on the CS/GTS wheel size? I'm thinking about doing this setup as well but worried that the front 8.5" wheel might not handle the 255 well.

Understandable, but I wouldn't overlook the Connects just because they aren't N Spec. The tread compound has been improved and longevity is better...plus you can run the Connect kit if you want additional information for track days, etc.
It’s also way better at lower temps 32-50F, and at all temps the grip in the wet is improved. I run them and have been very happy with the wear and would recommend others give them a go. Also, the tire profile looks aggressive to me, more chonky:
