Just got it, sounds amazing. Downshifts with Manual Transmission in Sport or Sport Plus is incredible. Had to come inside for a food and water break!

On the options for the GTS it states more tuned exhaust so it doesn't really sound any better than the C4S

My understanding is there is a different sound at higher RPMs. Low down almost same as S. However, like Shrimp said, more sound in the interior due to less sound deadening material.

I have a pedestrian 911 S, so I'll just keep walking by. (Sarcasm)

If you include (and want) all the options on the C2S that are standard on the GTS, it's a pretty good deal.

Does anyone know where the sound deadening material is actually removed from in the car ? Is this what is suppose to make the exhaust sound better ? If so why can't S owners just do it ?

I know it's been beaten to death up and down this board, but this is exactly it. When you're optioning out a Carrera S and it comes out to ~$160k, might as well just bump up to the GTS.

ESPECIALLY when you're getting things like sports package and sportdesign. Plus, without the ceramics, the steel brakes on the S look comically small. I know there are S owners on there that will claim they're actually better than the GTS brakes, but aesthetically they bother me. That's just my opinion, and worth getting the GTS by itself lol.

Also especially now that you apparently can't get the PCCB with supply chain issues.

As far as sound, I'm curious to hear reviews from owners coming in as well. YouTube reviews seem to imply that the upper rev ranges sound very different from the S. People with LIGHTWEIGHT, NOISE CANCELLING GLASS in particular please chime in, as that's one of the last couple of options on my build sheet I'm trying to decide if I should leave on the chopping block.

Being a owner of a 991.2 GTS with Kline manifolds installed I tested a 992 C2 GTS today, because I was curious about the sound. I have tested the C2S before and the sound in mine is properly better. The sound in the 991.2 and 992 are different and it’s individual what people prefer. I also have to say that the car I tested today was EU spec with the new filters installed. My old 991.2 is without. So how is the sound in the 992 GTS? It was so much better than what I expected. I have seen the reviews and heard the sound at the top end, but it was even better in real life. It is so good at the top end and it really sounds NA. The great thing about the 992 GTS is that you can still cruise around without the sport exhaust on and it is very quiet and comfortable - Yes the 992 have a lot of noise from the tires - I really hope the 992.2 will fix that. I should mention that I also have the 718 Spyder ( EU spec with the filters) and I wish the top end in that one would sound more like the 992 GTS - that is how good the new 992 GTS sounds in my opinion.

This is great feedback, thank you! Would sports cats be mostly noticeable during higher revs? Or does it drone a bit during idle or 2-3 rpm?

I guess I am one of those C2S owners who doesn't like the GTS (I would like to) but Porsche made several restrictive decisions that either give me an option I don't want or limit my choices in another area. For those reasons, I find the GTS personally unappealing. To each their own.
