Default Latest on Backordered Options

I received a new allocation after my April delivery was a total loss from the Composer. The new build is an August delivery and it seems to have a few options missing (mainly PDCC). I haven’t gone over the build with my SA yet & the freeze date is in 27 days.

Just wondering what options are backordered or unavailable. I don’t really want to add non ‘must have’ option if it causes a significant delay.

Thanks

I had to remove PDCC and PCCB from my build for it to give a delivery date.

Same here. I fought it with my dealer but got nowhere with Porsche and had to remove those options from my build in order to place the order. I've been less than thrilled with Porsche's overall response (or lack thereof) for those who lost vehicles on the Felicity Ace.

May be in a way you save yourself some money- PCCB and PDCC ae not "must haves". My last 2 Porsches had PCCBs and I thought I would miss them but the Standard brakes are massive on the GTS. They take them straight from the Turbo. Do miss the lack of dust but if you get Satin Black wheels you do not even see the dust. I also had my wheels ceramic coated to help with cleaning them

Yes, SA said they are currently reserved for the TTS and Taycan TS.

Yeah, just got off the phone with my SA. PDCC is a ‘stop sale’. So it’s not an option anymore. That’s a bummer.

What are you guys thoughts on a GTS without PDCC? Am I losing versatility in regard to comfort driving vs track days? It does make a significant difference to me on my Macan.

Seems like only GTS and higher trim levels are able to get PCCB and aerokit.

PDCC was originally developed for the Cayenne and Macan with V style engines to offset body roll because of high center of gravity. In my opinion, the PDCC in a 911 is unnecessary because your body roll is minimum because of low center of gravity of car and boxer engine. Plus the increased maintenance cost. 911 with SPASM has minimal body roll.

Spec'd PCCB on GTS lost on FA. Was kinda upset when couldn't spec on re-build. Not anymore. There is truth to the PCCB brake pad compound issue.
Bought a GT4 right after the FA went down, CPO with 1800 miles. At 4K miles and 2 1/2 track days, pads were shot. Threw an error code halfway thru a track day, Porsche dealer did tech insp 2 days prior. At Sebring yesterday, same thing with a 22' 992 C2S. Went thru pads at 4500 miles and one and a half track days, pads gone after 2nd session on day 2.

Standard pads? I put DS2500's in my car, definite improvement on the standard Pagid ones. But if you're getting that sort of wear maybe something like a DS3.12 would be better?

With the accelerated wear you are seeing you likely need to step up to a dedicated race pad to handle the elevated temperatures your stock pads are being subjected to. As mentioned above, the Ferodo DS1.11 or DS3.12 would be a solid choice. The 992 C2S takes the FCP4664 pad shape in the front and the FCP4713 pad shape in the rear. Happy to discuss further.

Already had a plan in place to replace PCCB with Girodisc/RSL29, distributor sent incorrect pads, so figured what's the harm in 2 lousy track days on PCCB's. None really, just the cost of OEM pads if/when I decide to sell and put PCCB back on. Did 14k miles and a dozen track days on prior 21'Cayman GTS with OEM pads and iron rotors. No debate there are superior setups for dedicated track rats. Just disappointed Porsche OEM pads with 10k PCCB's are so lousy.

I had a chance to spec PDCC on my inbound 4 GTS but didn’t based on comments from Autocar road tester Richard Lane.

See his notes on Twitter

The Autocar feature comparing some key options across several 911s is here.

Spoiler - none of the Autocar road test team ticked PDCC on their ideal spec 911. Instead, their view is that the lower unsprung weight of the PCCBs makes a bigger difference to ride quality.

Curious if anyone had any recent experience to share, specifically from those who spec'd PCCBs on recent C2S / C4S orders.

Are PCCB still getting removed from builds, or are people who ordered since April seeing availability again?

Unsubscribed from this thread. Pleased to discuss PCCB’s and other option availability on 992 builds but not interested in the least in ANY unsolicited political commentary from anyone on Rennlist …….or LeBron James either. This is not Facebook.
