I have the car yet still feel like I am waiting
I only have 78 miles on my new car . I waited nearly a year . The last few weeks were brutal. Most here already have followed the ordeal so I wont replay it . So I get the car and its yippee !! Yet it has been short lived . Two days after I got it some city project tore apart my entire block . I don't even know or care what they are doing . All I saw was my neighbor's Taycan get hammered with dust as the workers dug a big hole in the ground next to his driveway . I was livid ! With the garage queen in the shop I had lazily used it for storage so now I had a job.. I had to clear it out and safely tuck away my car before they got to my house . Thats where it sat . Sigh ... at least it was safe . I have a loaner for my other car and was using that . Now the workers stopped . I have no idea if or when they are coming back . Wife told me they left a paper at the door but I thought it was junk so I never read it . Either way I was ready to drive it !!! I could always put it back.
Then a new hurdle presented itself . Saturday I changed an old lightbulb and got dust in my face . I thought the sniffles were the dust . They got worse . By Sunday I was flattened . Then came the "do I have Covid" worry . I had been so good at avoiding it . The rapid test was negative but I felt really sick . The next day another test and negative . My wife is not sick but tested negative . 4 days and too many tests to even count and I am still negative . I remember when a cold was "just a cold" . Even still this is a really bad cold and I didnt want to get I. my new car to do anything coughing and sneezing . I wanted to keep it pure .
So Im am still waiting . I dont know if its worse seeing the car in the garage with no workers and a free moment to go drive or when it was on the boat or facing delays .
Some might recall that my last car had 50K miles . Against my better wishes I am off to a low mileage start .

I don't understand why you aren't driving the car.
And I have a cold too. Of course, I don't give a diddly squat whether it's Covid since giving a name to my cold does nothing to make the cold better
But I'm still driving my 911!

I'll speak for myself but I think most can relate to a simpler time . There was a time when dealerships had a lot of cars . Ordering a car was 3 months instead of a year . Choices were easy and discounts existed . At that same time a a cold was a cold . It was bad but it wasn't a stressful event . Of course city constriction always existed but I have lived in my home for 30 years . The day after I got my car was the first time on my block. There were no boat delays and for some a sinking g boat with an ordered car just meant go to another lot and see what's close .
There is a difference between "complaining" or "whining" vs simply wanting things more smoothly . Had the shoe been on the other foot and you had been the one at home sick I wouldnnot have negatively passed judgement on your moment .

The car doesn’t really wake up til 2000 miles. You’ve got some work to do.

And sometimes I think people just join a forum to complain about people just sharing their thoughts, good or bad. Not in the mood to read it, keep scrolling to a topic you like, quite easy actually

I have a number of medical doctors in my neighborhood, and their general consensus (especially if you have gotten vaccinated/booster and not immune compromised)…don’t get overly concerned until you begin to have difficulties breathing…then you need to get to a hospital, ASAP.

I'd rather be sick with my incoming 911 in the garage than waiting here looking at TYD like a friggin moron every hour.
