Thoughts about prepaid service plan
Guys what thoughts do you have about Porsche sponsored prepaid service contracts? Normally I don’t buy these items since I never intend to keep the car that long. However I may keep this one for a while It’s a C4S. The quote was over $5,000 for 5 years… I think. Thanks

I would say something snotty like "search is your friend" - but let's be real, that never seems to work (the search feature that is).
Here is what you are looking for

and remember, you have up until your 2nd service to buy the Service plan.

In 2.5 years and over 35k miles with my 992 C4S, I was trending nowhere near that spend. Hard pass.

Three Wheelin'
It depends. Do they provide a 6 Star Hooker with the loaner each time? That would really be the only scenario where this makes financial sense. That being said, they have HUGE margins in these plans. I did buy the one for my wife's Audi after they discounted it 60% from the initial quote. In that one case, when I did the math knowing my wife's fairly consistent mileage, a set lease term reducing the chance we would get out of the car early and her preference for using the dealer/loaner, the net cost savings was sufficient to justify pre-paying for the service. But that is the only time in many, many cars that the math worked out that way.

Dealer is “requiring” PMSP +1 in light of no ADM on my Turbo. I doubt they will discount from what I guess is $1300. Anyone have experience on current pricing?

- PPF through dealer
- Maintenance Plan
- Wheel and Tire plan
- Financing through the dealer
- Extended warranty
- Porsche Design Watch
- Etc
…you’re effectively paying ADM. Behind a lot of “no ADM” deals being shared on RennList, the majority seem to have a catch.
Now, $1300 relative to the ADM some people are paying seems pretty benign, but it still sucks being represented as a no ADM deal.

Take the $5,000 and buy $2,500 of QQQ and $2,500 of BRK-B. You'll come ahead in 5 years.

And the first year of your service, Buckey, is already pre-paid in your purchase price.

If you’re being forced to buy or use the following…

I bought the 2019 RAM when they first hit the floor in 2017. Yea it was a promo move from Chrysler to bring out the newly designed 2019 RAM the same year they brought out the 2018 RAM. Anyway I went for the wheel warranty, the extended warranty and some other warranty adding another 5 or 6k to the price and have not used any part of them yet. Money wasted. I talked to my financial advisor when I was buying my Porsche and he said extended warranties weren't a good idea. His reasoning, giving the dealer an extra 5 or 6k with no interest is not a good ROI. Taking your money out of the market eliminates the return you could have gotten. By the time you need to use the warranty IF you ever use it, you could have made the interest to cover the charge. Just my two cents.
