High speed activation with power steering plus?
I read the quote above as just the opposite of what you are seeing:
"Power Steering Plus is available as an option for even greater convenience. At high speeds, steering is tight in the accustomed manner. At low speeds, greater steering assistance is provided for particularly effortless maneuvering and parking."
Meaning at high speeds there is no assist = accustomed manner...
And conversely low speeds steering assistance is provided...

You are in good company. I think this option is the most misunderstood option in Porsche land. Many think it tightens up the steering at high speed ( which if it did we would all have it). In effect it loosens the steering at ultraslow speeds like a parking garage but at regular speeds it acts like another wheel without the the option. People seem to read that statement about high speeds and assume it offers some benefit at high speed which clearly it does not.
Great option if you park in a garage that requires countless adjustments to get into a tight space - otherwise somewhat of a waste
