yellow looks better and better on modern Porsches as there are so much counterpoints in black like the headlights, base of mirrors, wheels, etc etc. They look like bumblebee from transformers in a good way. I dig the yellows.

If only Bumblebee progressed from the Beetle to a Porsche 911 as it should have been instead of growing a mullet, growing a neck beard, smashing down a Natty Light, and turning into a Camaro….

It's the only real objective data that I've seen on this particular question.

Personally, I don't think finances should enter the equation when picking a color. I went with green myself and my new Range Rover will also be green. Interestingly, the Range Rover salesman told me that "people love green, they just don't buy green" when it came to the dealer's experience moving used inventory.

I hear a lot of shark blues have been ordered. One of my local dealers have a shark blue and it's been there for months. $$ or color issue? Like the blue just don't want to own it.

Definitely $$...they could sell that car tomorrow at MSRP if they wanted to.

@Richard_Wallace could you explain more about tax credit on selling to the dealer?

Some states reduce the taxed amount on a new vehicle purchase by the value of your trade in.

For example, if you buy a car valued at $100,000 and you trade in your old car for $70,000; the sales tax due is on the $30,000 difference instead of the full $100,000.

Other states (California for example) do not reduce, so in the example above the sales tax due is on the full $100,000 amount, regardless of trade in value.

What about do-do brown? My old Macadamia 997 was bought as a CPO but I sold it two years later for what I paid for it. I know its not a popular color but I think it suits the 911 well.

The first 911 I ever drove was a 997.1 in this colour. To this day, I think the colour looks great, and really suits the 997.

I remember my dealer having a brand new Macadamia 911 for at least 1 year in stock, maybe 2. Impossible to sell. Finally the sold it somehow...probably at a huge discount. It was a Coupe C4S PDK.

But assume you want to sell private - GT Silver, Jet Black, Agate Gray are very popular colors and traditional. Yellow, Shark Blue probably more specific to someone that wants a brighter color. CWM, Dolomite, Agate and Chalk are also good colors.

Really not sure you would go wrong with really external color. The key will be doing a tasteful interior - with no wacky color combos IMO. Nicely optioned of course (it is a GTS). With the GTS many like the CL wheels, and if you want higher resale go with Manual (though more limited market as mostly PDKs are sold). Lastly if it is a Targa it would sell for more as well.
what is the tax credit benefits for selling back to dealer?? Im in california would love to know how to take advantage.
